Enter at Your Own Risk

Ho is Karen?

I have a first cousin named Karen, she is a decent person so I'm sure this kinda makes her uncomfortable.  Once again when I turn the tv on in the evening to see my local evening news, I see the tail end of Dr Phil..today he is talking about this new phenomenon Karen,  where a White Female calls the cops over something "she" sees as Not Happening in Her Neighborhood...like the white lady who called the cops on an African American man birding in Central Park, who also was strangling her dog while she was at it...OMG check this out and see what I mean about the dog..

So the list goes on, a white women who call the cops on a Latino man who was painting Black Lives Matter on his front lawn..it's actually a stereotypical word for A behavior..
More and more this happens...entitled white privilege for the upper income bracket white supremacy.  Put me in a room with 15 whites and 2 Blacks I go stand near the Blacks because I feel safer and I assume they are not of the conservative persuasion.  So call me a racists I suppose, because I don't prefer conservatives....but it has a lot to do with demographics as discussed in the last post.

Now dig this...the last job I worked was a family run business, a couple of these Karen's describes the women, and the knee on the neck type describes the males in this family. A husband, wife, and grown daughter, and son.  All white all conservative, Christian, all not the kind of people I want to spend time with...When they got ready to hire another lady they actually hired a black lady I was so happy cause the only other employee was another Karen, not related to the owners.  Before they hired the "new" lady I used to sit out back of the building and eat my bag lunch alone rather than try to spend time with any of them.

BUT then magik the new lady and bonded right away we had so much in common, she became my friend and I hers...we hung out after work, we gave each other rides, we got to know each others history and we got along so good we could laugh and joke and it felt so good to have someone around me who I understood and we were in alignment and I didn't have to worry I would say the wrong thing!!

All these Karen's and their men were armed! Yes they had guns on their person's not the Head Karen she kept hers behind the counter.  This "shop" was on a sidewalk street just off main street in my town.  And for some more background story there is a city park on the West side of town which strangely enough was a migration from the South end of town..meaning the poor and impoverished moved from the South end of town to the West side of town..>PUSHED there is a more appropriate description, by the Town Council when they decided that the South end of town which brings visitors off the interstate highway to the town should not be made up of run down homes, and people sitting on their stoops, and little black kids playing in the street.

So the city went about buying up the real estate, homes, parks, and anything they didn't like, ripping them down and beautifying that end of town. The African Americans and  low income whites were pushed to the West side of town where a small subdivision's value dropped when whites who had lived there all migrated back up north following the Dupont chemical company.  These small homes now within the financial reach of lower incomes.  Then low income apartments were built, and the wast side motels went to monthly rentals when the last generation sold out..Even the Grocery store that was on that end of town closed it's door and now that shopping center is boarded up and closed!!

This West side park is the work place of an entrepreneur..an older Black man who carves walking sticks.  He carves right in the park, sits on a bench and whittles away and he has a whole stack of sticks for sale.  See him there most all the time...not in the past couple years he may not be of good health now I do not know.  But his occurred in 2012.

He was always friendly always smiling, and pleasant.  Sometime he had a dog with him.  On occasion he will bring  his art into town and try to sell to individuals...so one day he entered this place where I worked..it has an open layout in one of the historic buildings of the original downtown which dates back to the early and mid 1800's. It used to be part of an old general store so big open floor plan.  There was work tables lined up and down but we were all basically in one room...so he entered I recognized him immediately he had 2 walking sticks with him..

I saw my "boss" walk up to the main counter  and she placed her  hand over her gun...the loaded pistol she kept on the second shelf within easy reach.  Here is this "Karen" all smiles asking may I help  you?? I'm sure he flet perfectly safe speaking to this little dainty woman with auburn hair and blue eyes...but little did he know.  Most of our clientele is other well to do Karens' mostly of the wealthy wives of insurance company execs, Real Estate and Timber Barons, and wealthy race horse farm owners.  In fact this boss told me she decides what she will charge someone, high, medium or low estimate, by how they are dressed and what they drive when they pull up to the store front.

So here is this extremely polite man who entered slowly and with an open smile on his face, he had a backpack on and she was standing there with her hand poised down below the top of the counter just above her gun..I saw this whole scenario lining up so I had been talking to her just prior to his entrance with a pair of scissors in my hand...so I moved to directly  beside her....and focused my attention to her hand and back n forth to the man who entered...See we were a fabrication shop and I used scissors as part of my job,,,,I'm not talking little paper cut scissors I'm talking 14 inch Shears...BIG jobs.

So I knew what she was up to and I had it in my mind if she went for the gun I was gonna slam my scissors over her hand and stop her from doing something STUPID. I was ready to act immediately...the man asked was anyone interested in purchasing a hand carved walking stick...and of course she answered no, I smiled at him and shook my head no I just wanted him to leave asap...he was in great danger.

My new lady friend was about 10 ft behind us at her work table, was basically holding her breath...as this was a tense situation this unsuspecting man had walked into...simply because of his skin color, his race, his size, and his income bracket.  He thanked her kindly and turned to leave, my boss never knew why I stood there ready she most probably figured I was about to defend her if need be and I would have had he been an actual attacker, but this goes to show HOW things get out of hand and get misconstrued. She saw a large black man enter her store with 2 sticks, I saw the carver from the park.  The park Im sure she has never even turned a head to look at.

You may not realize how many of this type paranoid people are out there waiting to pounce on you just because you're in a place that they feel you don't belong!

I despised that family and couldn't wait till I did not have to work there anymore when I fell and broke both my wrists and was unable to return to work since my left wrist was pretty much toast for next 3 years. I quit that job a week after I feel! She is still there in business and I'm sure she has an semi-auto by now.

Beware of Karen she is out there with mind already made.
