Hat the heck, may as well go back to 1969...

The marches are over the school is integrated, and I have my first and last black teachers because I went to summer school in 
'69 so I could graduate as a Junior in June of 1970.  I needed only one English credit to graduate and I had a plan!!

I recall very well how it was when we lined up to watch the buses bring black kids in...then later their homes were added to our bus routes...I rode a school bus until we moved into the city limits and either my sis who is 5 yrs older drove us or we walked back n forth after that.

So if I could go back to 1969...I would correct all the mistakes I now know I made when I was a teen, when I was a young adult, and through each decade...I can list them one by one.  I know exactly when my pivotal points were and how I made some wrong and some right decisions...some I agonized over others I didn't even know I was making a life altering decision until ole' hindsight came into being...sometimes that takes a lifetime.  Im sure I am making one right now but I don't know it  yet.  I don't have the wisdom I keep hoping to gain and it eludes me in some instances, most especially in relationships. 

I'd rather not be bothered.  I don't want to make commitments, I don't want to compromise, and I don't want to "work on my issues".  At this point I feel as if I earned each one.  I have these issues because of: those pivotal points.  

Why did I go on that hayride, why did I say I'd meet Gaye at the Burger Family, why did I let that jerk ride my horse so I could drive his corvette? Why didn't Deborah tell us what she was going through...Why did my 5th grade science teacher Mr Melton threaten to jump out of the window of the 3rd story right in front of us...I froze unable to move...Poor guy he was literally at the end of his rope.  Then the kids were going around calling him Mr Meltdown. You see these events altered my life...but how was I to know?? Somethings and some people the harder you push the farther away they get...then  you stop pushing and there is nothing left. 

In 1970 all the black and white schools consolidated in our county. 
So I had Mrs Collins for US History, she was a black educator who was sent to our high school campus to teach that year.  She was a good teacher excellent in fact....but she was fat.  SO all the kids made such fun of her and  if you didn't agree that she was fat, then you were ridiculed too.  I liked Mrs Collins, and I leaned a lot from her.

Then there was Mr. H.  I completely forgot his whole name...because we all called him Mr. H.  Do you know who Henry Louis Gates Jr is? Well he reminds me so much of Mr. H.  A very small, neat, quiet and highly intelligent English Lit. teacher who I liked so much but I rarely got to sit in his class as my friend who I had that class with 6th period always talked me into skipping Mr H's class.  She hated Blacks as did most of the kids I knew.  NOT me or my sisters we were never brought up with racism.  Not one word uttered in our home about any race.
So....
Joy encouraged me to skip school with her, we would walk to the Burger Family (think pre Burger King) and have a milkshake! I had no money she would pay...OK Then!  It was about 1 mile from school.  So we huffed it down Laurens St. and we  got about 4 blocks away and there he was...

He was 7 feet tall if he was an inch and he wore a size 14 shoe...he carried a billy club and a big radio attached to his belt and always smiled even when he was trying to scare the living hell out of you...it was  Roscoe the school truant officer! If you want a visual to me he resembled Fred Gwynne, who played Herman Munster. 

We saw him when he pulled his patrol car over,  he slid his club down inside the big belt after he got out, pulled his pants up, then walked toward and  behind us.  I was trembling, my friend grabbed my hand and headed us up a walkway and onto the porch of a nice well kept 2 story home on the left...She began to knock on the door...no one answered, and by then he was on the steps...

"Hi there girls, why are you off school grounds?"
My friend did the talking as I just stood there; being I was only there cause she wanted me there and I really would rather have been back in Mr H's class reading about Shakespeare or Lord Bryon.  

So Joy replied...."My Aunt lives here  we're gonna have lunch here today."
Seniors could leave the school for lunch...but lunch was well over by 2 pm. And he knew it..but he looked at  his watch sort of to let us know he was no fool.
So he didn't get upset or give us a speech, he said,..
"So your aunt lives here eh?" 
"Yes sir...sure does." 
Well how is it you're a white girl and the lady who lives here is a ( 1) negro lady  , I see her out here watering her flowers all the time, and when she is not at work she sits here on the porch in that rocking chair and I've had many nice conversations with her."
So my friend thought a minute...then said,

"OH, that is the MAID."
OH MY GOODNESS. 

That did it...I thought he was gonna bust an artery his lips got tight and his face got red and I just wanted to crawl in a hole. 
He turned our asses toward school and he slowly followed in his cruiser till we got to the school and went inside...We were too ashamed to creep into Mr H's class already in session and so we went into the girl's bathroom and hid till the last bell rang! 

Another time same girl convinced me to cut class to go to a new   store Grand Opening..."They are giving out free hot dogs, balloons, and the radio station is gonna be live!" Really
"So what's this new store?"
"It's called Wall Mart." 
"Never hear of it."
"Me neither but free hot dogs?"
Okay so we headed North off the campus up Broad St to the area called Dusty Bend...a little over  a mile walk...
When we got there that free hot dog and COKE was mighty good...there was a lot of people, they had clowns, balloons, and the radio people were there...SO we walked over to their outdoor booth and the DJ guy sticks a mic in my face and asks, "what's your name?"
"MY name is Sondra..." and then I proceeded to tell him my whole name...
Little did I know my sis was out driving in the car she had the radio on...it was 11 am in the morning...on a school day and guess who she just heard on the radio? 
Yes --->she told on me!! OMG 
I never got away with ANYTHING when I  tried to Break Bad!

Did you ever see that episode of Seinfeld where they talk about having a Do-over? I wish we could have a do-over not just this year but 2016 also...I usually watch the reruns of Seinfeld but no more not after reading this:

NOPE sorry Jerry, Unless you can somehow undo that I won't be watching.  Did you see Julia Louis-Dreyfus at the DNC? She was awesome in her authenticity and  honesty about how she feels about Donald...and she was very funny too. 
 AND this...I have never cared for Major League Sports.  I have attended and enjoyed Minor League Baseball.  Of all the Major League sports basketball to me is the MOST boring sport every created as a spectator sport...I know it's fun to play as we played in High school I was not on a team, but we played group sports in my Gym class...so we would split up into teams and learned to play basketball, softball, tennis, and soccer! We also did gymnastics, trampoline, track and field, and lots of sit ups and exercise on the slick gym floor... tumbling, you name it we did it!! Our gym teacher was serious!!

But watching basketball is BORING....so the NBA has never been of interest to me...today I applaud the members for using their platform and their influence to make change in this country.  I think the way the NFL handled the "taking a knee" was outrageous.  THIS is how it should have been handled and if it had been, then maybe some people who have died since then would be alive today...here is what the NBA did: First they WALKED OUT of the playoff games.
then they came to the table and created:
A Social Justice Coalition!

1. The NBA and its players have agreed to immediately establish a social justice coalition, with representatives from players, coaches and governors, that will be focused on a broad range of issues, including increasing access to voting, promoting civic engagement, and advocating for meaningful police and criminal justice reform.

2. In every city where the league franchise owns and controls the arena property, team governors will continue to work with local elections officials to convert the facility into a voting location for the 2020 general election to allow for a safe in-person voting option for communities vulnerable to COVID. If a deadline has passed, team governors will work with local elections officials to find another election-related use for the facility, including but not limited to voter registration and ballot receiving boards.

3. The league will work with the players and our network partners to create and include advertising spots in each NBA playoff game dedicated to promoting greater civic engagement in national and local elections and raising awareness around voter access and opportunity.

"These commitments follow months of close collaboration around designing a safe and healthy environment to restart the NBA season, providing a platform to promote social justice, as well as creating an NBA Foundation focused on economic empowerment in the Black community.

"We look forward to the resumption of the playoffs and continuing to work together - in Orlando and in all NBA team markets - to push for meaningful and sustainable change." 

THAT is a step in the right direction wouldn't you say? NOW the other Major League Sport Franchises,,,,and let us not forget these are business'es for profit!! ALL of them need to follow this lead.  We have to come together to create change...if we don't then things will get worse.  The cops will continue to think they can get away with murder as long as they DO GET AWAY WITH IT...but if We stop them they have no choice! 

Yesterday Thousands marched to DC the day after a corrupt Leader used the White House Grounds owned by ME and all other American Citizens to spread his hate of ME and all of the people like ME  who are not in his party, for his own Political advantage and to show his disdain for people who think like I do...or so he thinks...it only made me despise him more!!  He makes it clear he is only working for the ones who VOTE for him.  That is an attempt to create a society of One...not many. That in and of itself is communism. A party of ONE.  Yet its he who keeps saying the Dems want communism....

Apr 29, 2019 - Communism is a political and economic ideology that positions itself in opposition to liberal democracy and capitalism, advocating instead a classless system in which the means of production are owned communally and private property is nonexistent or severely curtailed.

...yet  candidate Biden clearly said he wants to include all and be understanding to all...Donald doesn't  say that he says it's "ME or Them". I'm about to dust off my flag I  found it yesterday tucked away in my shed.  You're going down Donald, and hopefully so is your party!

Okay so the march was in celebration of the same march led by Dr ML King when he made his famous speech...he would have the right words to help us at this time same as he did at that time.  I hope Donald looked out of MY white house window and saw all those marchers and understands they ARE not with HIM. They are never Trumpers!! 
Their application for the march said they expected 50,000 I'd say they had that and then some! Watch out Trump will steal the footage and use it to photoshop into one of his rallies to make it look like has black support. 

The theme of the day was VOTE...that means vote the Donald OUT...vote for a better man to come in...NO I didn't vote for Biden in the primaries, I voted for Tom Steyer! He had a very aggressive platform but I can see how no swing voter would come that far left so I get it...I honestly do, so Im coming back toward the center to support Joe.  IF I can do it so can someone on the opposing party...none of us will get exactly what we want but lets us each get something. 

So in other news Jimmy's home he was super happy when he got out of the car and was in his back yard...there is lots of eye drops, medicines, shots, and anxiety for my sis now but I think she can  handle it...my other sis is helping her out and I am so hopeful he will have good vision in a couple weeks when the drops can stop and the healing begins. 

I got 2 trees to plant so I need to get at it.

Change begins with you....if I could go back in time to change the path of my life I'd go back to 1997.

I really hope voters don't go there THIS YEAR.. thinking what's the use...I read in the NY Times,  much of what was said at the RNC was hogwash...in fact NOT even close to reality,  shows how people actually do believe this propaganda! 
Speakers continued to tell their audience that the violence we are experiencing is Joe's America while Joe is not even in OFFICE..putting the blame at the feet of the opposition party is just a narcissist ploy to deflect blame,  a mind worm...one set to blow on Nov 3rd.  It is a snowglobe they are shaking...everything that is going on today is Donald's to own. No he did not create the virus but his deflection shows me he feels he mishandled it.

Donald, his wife, and his Sec of State violated the Hatch ACT by holding RNC business at the White House, in the Rose Garden...and on a trip to a foreign country paid for by our tax dollars, Pompeo gave a speech from there a political speech..It is a def violation no matter how they Spin it.
Correction:
I accidentally said it was Barr in Israel yesterday when I was putting out some of Barr's recent statements along with Pompeo's plan to speak from Israel I typed Barr's name in both paragraphs.

 I had too much going in my little brain...anyways I know it's Pompeo, just called  him Barr...what do you think?? I think THEY get away with doing all sorts of atrocities they are the party of corruption and that is what they are promoting.

Did you know 30% of Latino's voted for Trump in 2016?  Que demonios??? Maybe now with 3 yrs of him showing how he really feels about them: trying to deport DACA children, Building a wall around Mexico all murderer's and rapists as he said.., and  promoting Private (meaning white) Schools, they now know he is NOT favorable to them.  The VP of the Navajo nation spoke for Donald, while the President of the Navajo Nation spoke for Joe, confusing I would say...most Navajo are not favorable of the illegals coming  in from Mexico and they supported Donnie's Wall...hope they didn't really think that would stop the illegals. The Navajo VP said Donald had put more money into the Navajo economy than any other president...he was referring to the CARES Act which was initiated by Congress not by Trump.

The VP of the Navajo asked for the death sentence of Navajo Mr Mitchell, who killed 2 people in a car jacking in 2001, be commuted to life.  I figured in exchange for backing up Donald and speaking at the convention he would get it,  that never happened...he didn't commute that sentence, instead he pardoned a bank robber Jon Ponder who was released from jail in 2004 and started the Hope for Prisoner's program...Trump keep touting his justice reform bill it's only on the Federal level...IT does not shorten the terms of people in State Pens...What is he talking about when he says he has done more for blacks than any other President?  I just don't see it, how so?

AG Barr brought back the enforcement of the Death Penalty to Fed Prisons which has not been enforced for 17 yrs. 42% of the people on Federal Death Row are Black, while the 4 men being put to death this summer are white except Mr Mitchell who is Navajo.

The Donald Party portrayed themselves as exactly the opposite of how they really are...they pretend to be proponents of immigrants, they pretend to care about human rights, they say they are the party for the people, truthfully they have imprisoned immigrants in the border camps while denying simple human rights,  they have pardoned their own corrupt political advisors, and only care about millionaires and billionaires.   

Most of the speakers of color who came out of the woodwork to speak up for HIM showed up rather suddenly and out of no where...possibly they were PAID to speak.  I know when pushed on the Today show after his speech, Tim Scott would not back up Trump's lie that mail in voting was fraudulent.  HE was asked twice "do you agree with Trump that mail in voting is rigged or fraudulent" HE would not answer he danced all over it...He said he has confidence in our systems...

It's all a snow job, there is NO Republican Policy. Their policy is whatever comes up, blame Joe Biden or "they" as Trump likes to say..."they" meaning anyone who is not for him.  

Meanwhile the man who was shot in the back and paralyzed is handcuffed to his hospital bed!   He can't even walk and his family is asking "why is he under arrest"...
I did not know this is a country where if a Policeman  gives you a "command" you have to follow it to the letter, or he can kill you?? That's not what it says in the 11th Amendment? I read Innocent Until Proven Guilty!

This morning I mowed the grass in my yard it was very tall again with all the rain we have had.  My fruit tress wilted in the pots yesterday so I moved them into the shade, they may not be able to take this strong heat, I may have to pull my planting locations into shade a little bit, of course once in the ground their roots can pull moisture from farther away...I will mulch good also. 

I got the pear tree in the ground, it looks happy. 1 down 3 to go... I put it within the 50 ft area of the Kieffer I already had. I made a circle of wire around it hopefully that will deter any antler rubbing from the deer. 

If the weather permits I will get the 2 apple in the ground tomorrow... we may get winds of 20 mph or more due to TS Laura...bending around heading east and we could get more rain...we have dried out for the past 2 days..

Jimmy had his eye surgery yesterday to correct blindness due to cataracts.  Most diabetic dogs develop cataracts within 9 months of contracting the disease. The vet said he was happy with the way the surgery went but one eye the ocular pressure was higher than he liked so he was rechecked  this morning...and I'm waiting to hear how that went they return home today.

The bird is doing splendid..both eyes are open and she can see quite well now...still a slight red  on the rim of the eyes... I will treat her one and maybe 2 more days then she will be released.
I saw one more bird in the yard who is afflicted hopefully I will be able to help him too...this time it's a male. I cleaned all the feeders with a bleach solution, I need to do that weekly for a while.  These house finch live in such large tight groups they pass it around easily. 

Not much else going on that I care to share, Friday again, just another day anymore.  OH  the mower, blades....I don't have the right size socket, so I have to make a trip to the Auto parts or hardware where I can get a 15/16 standard socket or 24mm Not gonna happen today cause after the tree planting and the mowing part of which I did with the push mower, Im bushwhacked...

I pushed the flat part of the yard so I could collect some grass clippings with the bagger for my compost pile and did the rest with the riding mower. 

Last week of August...Next week is Labor Day!

As I have been saying I am not watching the RNC all those lies, all the fear mongering the Rep's are the Party of Fear ..why do you think they are all armed? They should change that elephant into a chicken...It's much more fitting.

Trump says of the rioting and protesting "this is how it will be under JOE," yet this is HOW IT IS UNDER TRUMP!  A 17 yr old is now a murderer! He was out in the street with an automatic RIFLE...why weren't the cops sitting on his neck? They shot a guy who was running away AND HAD no weapon in the back...and yet here is this white guy walking down the street with an auto rifle? 
What is this Afghanistan? Holy Moly..

... the armed "militia"  in the streets Vigilante Justice? Since when do we need A Militia? I'm sure Trump will say it's very unfortunate...BUT he won't come right out and call this guy and others like HIM Thugs..Mitch sits on the bill that the HOUSE sent up in June the one on Police Reform. THIS IS ON MITCH, if those reforms were in place maybe Mr Blake wouldn't be in the hospital paralyzed, and maybe this very young misguided teen would not be under arrest for murder.
When asked most Americans say they own a gun for protection...so that old myth of "hunting" is baloney...they are afraid.

FOR EXAMPLE: A guy robs a liquor store, he has a gun, he shoots 2 innocent by standers, it's on video, and all the Names, the details, the photos, everything is released on the evening news that NIGHT and the guy is arrested and charged and in court the next day to be arraigned... BUT when it's a cop who is doing the shooting....it's like weeks of "we will get to the bottom of this matter, and release details when it's appropriate." Excuse me this is NOT fair!  It is appropriate to know NOW, what other "details" are they waiting on time to make up some sort of 'their version of the truth'.

Yesterday the CDC was bowing to the pressure of the HHS controlled by the Donald Party and doing a complete reversal on testing, today they back peddled on it...I do understand that testing with no symptoms is hit or miss example because you could be fine on the day you're tested and have it the next day! BUT they are looking for the carriers..so they can be isolated....We need to concentrate on not Spreading the virus...issue more stringent policy on droplet control and containment.  OR just go ahead and expose everyone and lets be done with it...the carriers don't know they have it I did know I had it...it came on strong and I stayed out of circulation for 16 days after...

I did see a photo on the NY Times page this morning of the fist bump Pence was giving his audience none of them had on masks...so....Ignorance seems to run along party lines!

Pompeo gave his Donald Party Speech from Israel?  Why is he in Israel?? Is it not enough to stir up the Christians now they gotta stir the Jews up too?

Meanwhile Barr  actually said the "left" is trying to tear down American institutions...
OH like the USPS? Like the Dept of Justice, Like the CDC, The Free Press, The Voting Rights Act, those institutions? The ones all currently under attack from the Donald Party?
And he  said "the left is replacing religion with progressive idealism" 
His rhetoric sounds exactly like Bannon's, Excuse me Freedom of Religion or the choice to have NONE is a constitutional right and the last time I checked the Constitution is an American Institution.

I have to go out today for a few things gas for the mower and that is going to be my next project Putting new Blades on my Mower...It looks easy but of course there is the fact that I have to get down on the ground. 
First it has to cool off really hot right now.

SO part of the reason I'm in this country is due to my ancestors fleeing an out of control leader!
A mass exodus could easily happen if Trump is re elected...I was in attendance to a live stream on YouTube where over 700 people had a conversation, and some said they had plans to leave the USA if he is re-elected and they plan to remove their money from banks and investments on the day after the election if he wins! They mentioned Mexico, Latin America, Ecuador,  as possible destinations, they plan to drive there....They also think he won't relinquish his "throne" if he loses...

I wish for more wisdom every single day but I'm so easily drawn off balance...and I'm very naive!  It is my wish to get back to my center as quick as possible when I realize I'm off my axis.  I've been off my axis since my adult son had to move in with me for 2 yrs, then loss of my Mom, then my sweet little buddy Casey, and  the Country I so love gone to hell  thanks to the Ignorance of the Right..and the virus getting me, I feel like I'm under attack.  My emotions and my life under a deep veil of grief, my belief system is being attacked and assaulted, and my body riddled with a virus. Man... Im so off kilter.

I saw a snippet of the RNC  on the news this morning when I tuned in to see  how much more RAIN will the state  be getting...there they were saying things like "They will take away your way of life" without any explanation or reasoning behind this skewed thinking except that "they want to create a downtrodden, weak society." "If I don't WiN it's rigged," he says with no evidence to back up that claim...just to incite fear...the only one rigging it is HIM.  IF he does WIN It's RIGGED is how I see it. What a liar and a loser!

Anyways aren't the Conservatives, the one who believe in the Bible, they preach it to us but only the verses they Want to use to control our lives...they are the party of Control Freaks, they want to dish out how we live and use the Bible to back it up correct? Doesn't the Bible say "the Meek will inherit the Earth." The saying implies that those who forgo worldly power will be rewarded in the kingdom of heaven. 

I see a man who hates meek people..the very thing he is saying is exactly opposite of the position of the religious right that he pretends to be a party to.    
So if you look at it thru the text of their Bible, it is Biden who they are saying will produce the world the they pretend to believe in...OMG see how off center I have been dragged.  Im just trying to understand this "say one thing do another" talking out of both sides of the mouth! It blows my mind. It's so unbalanced, there in lies my dilemma.

Anyways also in that snippet I heard him say, "if you really want to get them, say 12 more years" so he wants to get US, the ones who do not support him...
yet it was Biden who said, I embrace all Americans...he is not turning his dislike of Trump into hatred toward a portion of the population who don't vote for him the way Trump does, when  Donald says things like, "get them" he is talking about me, and you too, I take it personally!   Actually he hates poor people on any side of the fence...he wants to be a dictator, one where people pour their wealth onto his feet the land of milk n honey...but that is not who we are...and we  have not been that society ever, it was a pipedream of some...not the reality of the masses.

My blood began to boil so I had to turn off the news and I got my weather report on the Internet, yes more rain off-on all day today and more tomorrow! Dang! All rain no rainbow..

Like I said Im so off center I don't know what it will take to get me back to a place of peace and inner tranquility.  My Libra scales ♎are so weighted down and lopsided right now I feel I'm about to fall over. Where is justice? There is no justice, no fair election, no fair economy, no fair treatment by cops, no fair income for everyone, no fair fight, no fair deal, no Justice No Peace is  the right slogan for this time in our Country.

IN other news I hear Corona does strike twice or who knows how many times? That is news I've been dreading to hear, they say if your first go round was mild it can come back stronger, if I had to put a number on how I felt 1-10 with 1 being mild, I was a strong 5...so makes me think I will have to avoid people the rest of my life or is it in me and now it  can come and go at will?  If so then just kill me now.

I wish the Canadian border would open I feel like I need to run in Nov if Trump wins, I'm thinking somewhere in Northern BC..up around the Northern Territories, maybe that's far enough away...I can see all on the left becoming refugees fleeing this dictator.  The bird did well last night one eye is open yet still inflamed the other eye not so good...hopefully she will respond better today.  She is lively and eating and I think she will make a full recovery. I cleaned up all my feeders  to try and stop any more from contracting the conjunctivitis it is so very contagious I wiped all the feeders down with a bleach solution and the bird baths too.

It was drizzling when I walked to the mailbox this morning, it's Tuesday I normally  post one day ahead of time it's easier for me...anyways I  had a real letter in there! Imagine that, when's the last time you got a real letter from family or a friend?
It was from my sis thanking me for my $contribution$ to Jimmy's See Again fund, and she sent me some flower seeds how totally sweet.  
   She mailed it on the 18th it arrived on the 25th...normally we can send letters back n forth in 3 to 4 days..the last one I sent her the one with Jimmy's check in it took 10 days to arrive! I was about to have the check cancelled when she called me to say she got it.  And yet there's grown republicans who deny there is an issue with the mail...maybe somehow they don't get mail I have no clue...but I'm thinking of putting all my bills, notices etc on email delivery.  I don't like to do that because they can change your due date or your interest rate in case of some credit cards, without notice..and if you're not really looking over those email notices...YOU can get screwed up that happen to me before but I think I will just have to do it..but I may wait till NOV to see who wins the election,,,,if it's the Donald Party I will have my mail forwarded to Canada. :o) LoL...Im joking...I think...;o/ 

But I will say when I was In Canada traveling in 2016...it felt so good to be Under One FLAG! Here where I live in the south there's always 2 Flags flying the one that represents hate, and now the other one also represents hate. To me, if you fly an American Flag you're supporting Trump! I will not fly my flag again until he is gone took it down 3 days after he was elected. 
Speaking of letter writing...
My x-best friend and I used to write letters to each other when she moved to Ohio.  She left her husband and her KIDS...not that I was happy about that her leaving the kids one 15 one 11 not good! But it was her choice not mine.  I told her I felt she had made a big mistake! 
    In the beginning her letters were about how good it was to be out of that situation, and how happy she was, how free she felt..but then when the new wore off that candy, her letters changed she condemned the new people in her life, (the man she left her husband to be with) struggled with facing the situation she had created back at home, and denounced her Mother who tried to make amends.

My friend never made amends with her mother who after getting a clot in her leg and having that leg removed died a few days later...it was so sad because her mother used to call me and ask about her daughter who would not take her calls...I always told her everything I knew, because I felt my friend was wrong...yes she had an ax to grind about their past relationship but that was in the past.

When she could no longer live in the Ohio situation, it was her mom with a friend who drove up and brought her home and gave her a place to stay for 2 yrs.  

When my friend let me down on way too many occasions, and year after year outlined to me the changes she wished to make and how she would go about making those changes and yet did NOTHING... I wrote her a last letter and told her I was no longer willing to be in her corner as she for years had outlined how she intended to make changes, and had MANY opportunities to make those changes but in the end she did nothing but complain about her situation, about her life, about the reality of where she was in life....yes it had not always been fair to her but she had many chances to make that different. 

 I told her, 
"I have listened to and supported many of your plans for nearly 30 years  in the belief that you were actually wanting those changes to occur...but now I see that will never happen, you want someone to change your life, you are unwilling to do it yourself.   I think  you have allowed the rust of inaction to cover you over and now you are unable to create change.  Please don't see this as me walking out on you in your time of need, because your time of need will be every single day as you make no move to improve your situation. Please see this as me walking away from a situation I have no control over and feel helpless to find a solution to...it goes against who I am as a person and a friend to give up, but I am.  I can no longer be a cheerleader for you so I would be dishonest to continue to support an ongoing friendship, one that I no longer have faith or trust in. I am really sorry that I have failed as an encouraging friend who could help you move forward, I thought I was, but I feel I've come to a dead end.
So many times when we shared our dreams and made our plans, I was serious, and followed through and now I feel betrayed as I have no real clue as to who you really are.  I opened up to you in a way I had never done to anyone, and I thought you were doing the same, but now I realize you kept the real you hidden all these years.  
I have no clue who you really are deep inside. I thought we were kindred spirits, but in reality it was you gazing deep into my life and me staring at a smoke screen.
In closing Im sorry I let you down and was unable to be that person that you could open up to and be who you really are.  I hope you find that person in your life at some point and that gives you the fulfillment and the solace  you seek. I will forever consider you the friend I always wanted, but never really had."

And so it was, then she sent me a Christmas card the next Christmas, it simply said Love, and nothing more...I did not want to be unctuous so I ended this friendship...I could not go along with what I knew was not the reality of the situation any longer.  I have no clue where she is now or what has become of her as I cut all ties.  That does not mean I don't wonder or care...I hope she was able to fulfill her dreams if not all then at least some,..as none of us get all what we want from life.

I have made an honest effort to fulfill most of what I wished to be in life, yes some of it fell apart, some things I tried just didn't work out but I did try...right now my travel plans are on hold, first due to helping my son for 2 yrs, and now stunned by grief and the virus keeping me stagnant.  Setbacks can bring you to a halt, but it should not stop you dead in your tracks. I still have hopes and dreams and with a little luck I may pull it off.

OH but wait why hasn't anyone pointed out that HAPPENED ON HIS WATCH already?  And it is HE has plans to cut grants to local Police Depts, while Biden has said he intends to increase Federal Funding to help with better training.  Biden intends to close private run Prisons and put more effective efforts into the Sentencing phase of non violent crime,....he intends to get rid of ICE! I wish Border Patrol could be put to better  use like putting a stop to Illegal Drugs entering this country! Unite the children being detained back into the arms of their parents.  

Yes the very thing he is declaring the "violent' left will do is what has already happened on his watch...mostly white nationalists creating violence in the streets...and disillusioned blacks who seem to be at the bottom of the barrel.
Why did it happen? Because he did NOTHING to solve the problem of WHY the Black Lives Matter movement was formed in the first place he didn't force McConnell to pass the Bill introduced by the House, ...to end police brutality against people of color and poor whites for that matter...

Why aren't they sitting on Steve Bannon's neck he is spouting out anti government rhetoric saying his arrest is political...Well why is he saying that? He is NOT a politician as far as I can see so why is he saying that? Maybe he is declaring the truth what is between the lines is "I am a threat to the political stability of this country"....I think that is exactly what he is saying! 

He is controlling Trump from afar  he has his hand in what does and does not get done, he is orchestrating the dissolving of our democracy to the Utopian Nationalist Society he wants one without Poor, downtrodden,  and an all White Society of Capitalists...yet he was not treated as an "enemy of the State," altho he is a huge enemy of the State...in the way he thinks that we need to return to some sort of religious controlled society with it's roots of Capitalism and stamp out socialism in all sectors.   That article is old but I think it can give some sort of a look into the mind of this man. You can not go back...you can only go forward and try new ideas.  

The humidity is OFF the charts today...Just tending to the bird had me so sweat sogged I had to shower and change clothes.   The humidity is currently 95% That is like being in a steam room set to 104 degrees! The dogs did not even want to go out for their morning explore. Having 2 hurricanes in the Gulf is just peachy...the west burns to the ground and we are drenched in moisture.  

I see most of the Covid surge is now in the midwest where it had not been making too much trouble, but now the curve is spiking, South Dakota, check out this linear scale it shows how the virus just continues to rise 
Here is my state....it held steady until the Shut Down was lifted...then it has been a steady rise.

Trump is so desperate he has forced the FDA to approve a plasma treatment that uses antigens of the recovered to infuse into the sick...the studies done have shown 35% improve at a faster rate, but it will not STOP the virus from happening...once again it's an ambulance in the valley instead of fence at the edge of the cliff! He only wants to say "we are curing people of the virus" completely political as is every move he makes...he could care less if people live or die his true self was speaking when he said, "it is what it is."  

Came up in comments on my other blog..and this is something I read not long ago the 1918 pandemic took 2 yrs to reach herd immunity.  This one could take that long.  And people are forgetting in 2017, we had 80,000 deaths in the USA from the Flu, and that is with the so called "flu shot" which is a complete guessing game.  

I will not be watching the fiasco that will be the Republican Convention...key note speakers a St Louis couple who pulled guns on people walking past their house on the way to the Mayor's mansion to protest.  They have been charged with a felony gun charge! 

They broke the law...and Trump wants to glorify them.  I thought they looked completely insane a couple who are afraid of their own shadows.  If they really felt threatened why did they go outside? NO one was trying to break in.  They were the threat. It's people who have guns killing people who don't have guns!
 
To clarify Trump didn't just start  his dislike of the postal service recently.... Jeff Bezos owns Amazon, he uses the USPS to ship his Amazon orders for the most part...and he also owns the Washington Post...AH HA a Never-Trump newspaper...so by hurting Amazon shipments the Sick POTUS thinks he can dethrown Bezos...

Outwardly, the president has framed his enmity toward Amazon as a defense of the Post Office, raging on Twitter about the “many billions of dollars a year” the U.S.P.S. supposedly loses for “being their Delivery Boy”—a situation he says puts “many thousands of retailers out of business.” 

so this is the real reason for his attempt to disrupt the postal service, add to that now the voting by mail...he always has a Conspiratorial reason for his actions. 
So when he starts to casually mention something in a tweet or in one of his off the wall remarks to the press you can be sure he has already begun a secret attack in some way.  

Trump's wants to Boycott GoodYear tires because they said MAGA hats are not okay in the workplace...This is how he gets even.  So Biden is cashing in on that by playing ads in Ohio and NC where Goodyear factories are operating.. using that footage!  It's a dogfight at this point.  I just hope Biden doesn't get too excited he can run off topic pretty easy when he gets excited I've noticed.

So that's what is on my mind today caring for the blind bird, Keeping my eyes open to what's going on in the world, and trying to stay cool!  

Binge Watching

Or just go off to work and mind our own business?  Meaning if there is anything Weird about our election process.  Im eager to hear what Nancy Pelosi has to say to DeJoy tomorrow...he basically said he is not rolling back the changes he made but putting further change on hold...excuse me, but wth??  How can removing sorting machines be more cost effective?? Even a 5th grader with a lemonade stand knows better, OH lets take knives we normally slice the lemon with out of process and see if we can make it faster...not hardly! I do believe the GOP are either stupid or they think we are!

I placed my fruit trees around the yard in the buckets to see how they do in those spots they each need 6 hrs of sunlight...I will let them acclimate  a couple days see  how it goes then in the ground.  I may have to make a couple changes a few ft one way or the other.  I'm pretty up there in years so it may not be me who eats of this fruit but hopefully someone will! Once it's in the ground I can say I have an orchard!! Pretty big claim eh?  This is not the first try at having fruit trees...it is however my last try!

I also put the broccoli and cabbage plants in pots hope they will give me a little veg to eat along with the carrot and lettuce that is sprouted already.  The carrot grows slowww so If I get any it will be in 2021 OMG that sounds like a sci-fi movie title...to someone who has been marking the calendar since 1953!

I felt stronger today but not superwoman just kinda like miss piggy strong ...but in the end the humidity drove me in and now Im done with all chores.  I watched a couple movies on Tubi last night.  I always like Tom Berringer so I had added a movie he did long ago and somehow I missed it mainly it was Cuba Gooding Jr. starring and Tom was supporting.  I like Gooding's work but he sure messed up his private life kinda seems. 

The movie was a Murder of Crows.  A good drama/thriller...If you haven't seen it you can stream it right off of Tubi.  Like I say I don't know how I missed this movie but actually there's lots of movies I missed even some I watched I missed...lol Have you ever fallen asleep in a movie theater?  I have and I used to do it about every Saturday in Sheepshead Bay at the Regal Cinema on Shore Parkway right off the Belt Parkway. 
 I had a TV but no cable, or antenna, I would go to this diner that used to be right in the same area get a veggie melt and fries with iced tea and then a go to a matinee.  Even then a matinee was $10.  It was cool and quiet and they had those soft rocking type seats...sometimes by the time the feature film rolled I'd be snoring...LOL
It happened so many times I decided I was wasting my money joined the Blockbuster Video in Bensonhurst on 86th St instead...I would rent 2 movies with my membership for $4...and take home a deli sandwich...and before you know it I was getting Netflix delivered to my mailbox...for $8 a month and ended the Blockbuster trips!
But when I was so poor that I couldn't do any of that my sister used to tape episodes of CSI and send them to me on a VHS tape.  She would fill an entire tape with episodes...I can recall it so well.  I was a binge watcher before the phrase was ever created. 

I lived in a big rambling 4 story house that once belonged to some wealthy person but had been purchased by a couple as their retirement income maker...and they had sectioned it off into apartments...they had 3 basement apartments the first floor had 2 apartments, once of which was theirs, the 2nd floor had 2 and the 3rd floor had 3 apartments.
AND they had one detached studio apartment...so they easily covered their mortgage.  This house was located in Sea Gate off the edge of Coney Island the only gated community in Brooklyn, and right on the Beach.  

I had one of the Basement Studios and my own entrance.  The mailboxes were located by the front door on the main floor hall then a stairway led down into the laundry room and I could also get to my apartment by going thru the house down those stairs into the laundry room then out an exterior door that ended up right by my entrance door. 

So on Friday night when my work week was done I had 4 awesome days off.  It was the most exciting thing in the world to come in check the mailboxes and see my video sitting on top cause it wouldn't fit in the little letter box for #12. 
There would be like 6 or 8 episodes of CSI on there...depending on whether she took out the commercials which she sometimes did...I would go to the grocery on Saturday and before I got my little Mercury car, I rode my bike back n forth to shops and the train...I'd come home with handlebars loaded down with bags of stuff...I was so poor at that time and trying to pay off a huge debt I had created "long story" and so my food budget was $25 a week. 

 I ate out 3 days a week while at work...Bagel with butter and coffee for breakfast $1.75, lunch would be a tin plate  of take out rice n beans for $3.75 and that was also dinner because it was a huge 3 inch deep tin...and when I got home I'd usually have a snack of some kind before bed a banana normally about 11 pm.  

So my grocery buy was the same thing every single time this way I knew exactly what I was buying. A cucumber, a head of romaine lettuce, a bunch of bananas, a bag of roasted pnuts in the shell, a cauliflower head, Some canned beans, a loaf of bread, some sliced cheese, a box of microwave popcorn, an onion, and a frozen pizza! One stick of butter and 6 eggs.  

I kept is so simple and I ate the same thing on my 4 days at home...the pizza would last me 2 days with a salad, the canned beans with a cheese sandwich, The cauliflower I would mix with onion stir fry it with turmeric and butter and more salad.

The popcorn  and pnuts was to go with my CSI binge watch.  What wonderful times that was for me, because I learned how to really survive on a shoe string.  When I hear the theme song to CSI, the original one Who Are You..I get this little excited feeling of butterflies of and of feeling so safe and comfortable in my little studio by the sea away from the crazy world just outside my door.

Later on in 2003 I started to eat a strict vegan diet...and so my shopping changed I had my little car by then and I was doing better financially so I purchased a little bit more food.  I still lived a spartan lifestyle because I paid off a $25,000 debt in about 2 yrs.  and Paid $6,000 tuition for Paramedic School too. 
I went into debt to move to NYC and worked my way out of it to get out of NYC...lol all a huge learning curve for me, and quite an experience in humanity, humility, and the human struggle.

HY DON'Y THEY....

Make people move back away from the coast?
Possibly two hurricanes hitting the gulf coast? Good grief! Really hope that does not happen! That region has barely recovered from all the past storms let alone a double whammie. AND there is a HUGE oil refinery there Valero.  One has to drive past all that nasty to get to the Wildlife areas nearby....just shows how nature and oil don't mix, that is why it's UNDER the ground and it really should of stayed there!
And the fires out west...gobbling up homes and forest all those animals where will they find food until the region regrows...it's so horrible. Why isn't Trump sending the Military out there to help????

Why don't they make a kit so we can all take these gas engines out of our cars? 
Retrofit to make them electric? Can't be that hard, could be expensive but look at the benefit, our atmosphere would clear up in record time. NOW that would be smart..One day ---One day is all I keep saying to myself unfortunately for US probably not in our lifetime...thanks to the Billionaires who need another yacht or another mansion behind gates, or another Secret Island for sex parties..I don't know but I'm so over the rich n famous, WEALTHY LIVES DON'T MATTER to me!...I have already spent my lottery winnings (in my mind) after I share  with my family...let's see the ASPCA gets the most for spay and neuter programs, then various Horse rescue groups get all the land I can buy...then Sustainable Gardens will be Planted to Feed the Children, then I want to create a 401-k for Drug Rehabs all over the country to help the forgotten put on the street by Pfizer, by Opium growers, by Heroin producers, and pushers who are stealing a life for money, regain that life. And then I would create the largest task force in the world to hunt those growers, producers, pushers and Drug companies down and throw away the key to the prison they end up in. Tough Love reversed. 

I know I sound like a liberal gone haywire...
but,,, WHY DON'T THEY get rid of anything that steals away someone's life, that reduces it to rubble??? Abolish...cigarettes, street drugs, strong alcohol...what good do these things do an individual or a society?  So much HARM,.  ALL so a corporation or an illegal one even can buy another yatch, another mountain top home more wealthy LIVES THAT  DON'T MATTER.
   Back in the day my daddy was a moonshiner I saw the harm...and my family suffered due to it. Both my grand dads shot dead, murdered!! And my Mom's Grand dad shot dead murdered he was a law man, my Grand dad a law man! And you can trace those murders right back to making and selling of illegal whiskey. 

WHY DON'T THEY GO AFTER THE BIG GUY?
The war against drugs seems to be on hold? This is why I don't agree with legalizing Marijuana. Hemp growing yes...shop keepers selling the drug NO...it is not helping.  It's simply creating another bunch of Wealthy people getting rich on the misery of the poor and stricken.  Many people are in pain and need drugs.  OK fine, they go to a clinic they use it there and then go home, they don't buy it and take it home.  If that works then why don't you take your chemo therapy home, why doesn't the antiviral drugs just sit on the shelf in Walmart? 
   I would not vote for any legalizing, it is a gateway drug in my opinion. I can't stand a pot head it's like talking to a someone with a brown paper bag over their mind...I used to work with a few of them and trust me they don't have your back when you need them.

WHY NOT TOUGH SANCTION ON THESE COUNTRIES? Like Mexico, Latin and South America (heroin) like Afghanistan (opium). And a stop the production of Meth in this country...What ever they are using to manufacture it, STOP the supply of that. 
The war on drugs just pick up the addicts put them in jail, how does that help?  Should'nt they be going for the Dealers, the Manufacturers, the ones selling it, putting it on the street in the first place...
My solution:
Free Rehab for all and especially snitches getting to the root of the problem...I know some people are lost causes I've seen it first hand.  FREE REHAB for all who need it!!  Mental heath response in this country is pathetic, yet we have a highly addicted society..either prescription drugs, street drugs, alcohol, and yet we provide NO affordable treatment?
   The Border Patrol is not doing their job the drugs are getting in while they chase Mexicans in the desert who just want a job washing dishes or waiting tables or picking vegetables,...It's not enough.

WHY DON'T THEY want hard working people to make a decent income?? I don't have an answer for this but if this is the answer to lifting people out of addiction and poverty and bringing better humans into the world then lets get  on with it..

WHY DON'T THEY PLANT FRUIT TREES in city parks?
Well today I hope to shop for some fruit trees...so I'm about ready to eat breakfast and go for a ride...I saw some at Lowes, I want to check one more place then decide what I want to do..I've planted before and the deer destroyed my trees...so I need to regroup and this time I will plant right in the yard not out on the acreage, that may help keep the deer away.  I want the deer and the fruit trees to be in harmony with me!

WHY DON'T THEY see what is right before their eyes?
Sunday was always a depressing day for me, when I was young my sisters went off to church leaving me to think about how I didn't believe and couldn't figure out why.
But just examine this for a moment...when we speak of Native American creation stories, it's call a Myth..
When we speak of Buddha, it's the "story" of Buddha...there was supposedly a real person, so not a God, a man... but Buddhism is  a way of living your life so I find some things in Buddhism that benefit mankind.
What about Mohamed, supposedly a man, not a God yet such a strict and unyielding belief, have  you ever tried to read the Koran?  I have OMG you would not believe the rituals.  Jehovah's Witnesses, Charles Taze Russell, just a man,
LDS a man, Joseph Smith, Judaism was Abraham a man, who they "believed" had a covenant with "God"...
   AND then there is Jesus...did he exist? Possibly, but he was a man, not a God supposedly the son of God..
So why are all other historical myths connected with religious origins, referred to as Myths...but not the Christian one??  They are all myths. My theory. Should they be worshiped, no.  Have some very special people been on this Earth, yes.  Mother Teresa, she was a Catholic, Roman Catholic Church is formed from the supposed Disciples of Jesus, a man and the first Bishop a man St. Peter...so on and on,  it's just men who somehow got put up as Gods. 
Ghandi, was not pushing a religion he was an activists who wanted to lead India away from British Rule. 
"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony."

I am a spiritual person in that I have compassion, and am passionate in what I feel is good, and I feel a connection to the Natural world around me via the plants and animals, a kindred-ness, a connection to the life force that moves on the Earth.  I look up to the night sky or to a bird on the wing or to the drunk in the street. I don't need a bible verse to awaken these feelings...it's just there. 
   My sister's finally woke up from their "religious sleep" and now they do good deeds that have nothing to do with anyone's soul but their own...acting out of compassion, out of duty, and out of being a better  human, not because of some commandments.
Each of us contributing in some way is so much more important than believing in a myth, believing in yourself and knowing what's in your heart is what I'm talking about. 

What good is it to ask questions if we have no solutions...so the next time you ask yourself something try to answer it.
