ELCOME IN THE NEW YR..

in an old fashioned way...I had gravy and biscuits for breakfast...of course I burned the biscuits.  I got so tired of the no gluten thing so I got some flour and make myself 2 biscuits they were going great then I got distracted and they came out kinda hard...but sure tasty...not like mom's tho. She used real milk...I used Almond milk.

BAD news my sis's dog Jimmy has been diagnosed with tumors that are inoperable, and the vet gave him only a week to live.  I think Jimmy will def make make it longer.  He is a fighter.  Sis is going to the weed shop today to get him some of the good stuff whatever they recommend for him.  Pot is legal in Colorado...I tried to order some for my dog and could not...she is going to see if there is a way to get some for Floss...my dog. 

I feel so bad for my sis, she has done everything possible to help Jim.  He was diagnosed with diabetes in 2020, then he went blind, and 2021 he had his lenses replaced, and she had to travel him back n forth to Denver so many times and then not only 2 shots of insulin a day but many eye drops...then he began to vomit and would not eat...So he was diagnosed with Pancreatitis...he spent a day in the hospital over Christmas.  Then he got worse on Wednesday so she took him in and they kept him over night to test his sugar and they did an ultrasound and some x-rays and found 2 tumors one on his kidney and one inside his abdominal cavity that has displaced his stomach and is not  operative. 

I really had hoped I would get to see Jimmy again....I Hope she will take a movie of him for me..

Back to my dog...
If you recall I shaved her and she still looks horrible.  Her coat has grown back just a wee bit but the naked spots are still visible...so I watched a Youtube on the proper way to groom a dog....well found out right away WHERE I went wrong.  See the blade that came on my clipper is a size 10.  You should never shave a dog with a size 10 blade only the feet, ears, and private parts.....now it came with these little comb attachments but with her coat NO WAY those combs would go thru her coat...

SO I ordered a 4 FC blade, this should go thru her long hair...as long as I keep it combed out good...and the groomer recommended 2 detangle sprays  to use I will go to Pet-Sense and look for that so in the future I won't have to butcher my dogs coats.  Annie I don't clip except sometimes her belly...

I learned a lot about the whole process and should have done that long ago. The new blade was $29 all paid on Amazon...and it will be here Jan 5th but I won't need to clip her for a long while yet...

I have no plans I did add a movie to my Tubi list for tonight...a good Sci-Fi, Alien attack type genre.  

 

Suddenly...

INTER LEFT on the first day...

So strange, on the 22nd, it got cold that night but since then it has been like Spring almost...the temps rose to the 70's it was bright and cloudless and I have not used any heat, knock on wood.  And speaking of wood I haven't had a fire in 2 days sooo Im thrilled.  I don't like cold weather.  I had enough of that when I lived in NY.  I haven't said much about it but I had plans to move  from NYC to Lake Placid.  The medical center was hiring paramedics and I was so wanting to get out of NYC...so I took the National Registry exam so my credentials would carry over no matter where I moved to...

And I had inquired about work there and they basically told me, all you need to do is apply we will arrange for an interview and you will be hired...Excellent.

Then I started looking at living arrangements, and even considered that I could purchase a little place of my own...THEN I came across the snowfall amounts for the area...4 ft annually...that's up to my shoulders ok....

NO freakin way...I wonder if they get less than that now...so I just googled it, currently there is 2 ft of snow on the ground and they expect 2 more inches today...NO thank you!! I sure made the right call on that one. I hate shoveling snow.

Maybe eventually climate change will make Lake Placid a nice place to be year round...but their snow season is from Oct 1 to May 11, Damn. 

So it's the day after Christmas, I have my windows open Im wearing shorts, flip flops and a tank top...Yeah it's warm 77 degrees!!...one year we did have snow the day after Christmas...and back in 1973 we had snow on the ground at Christmas when a freak storm brought us 2 ft of snow...We had to walk to work that whole week...NO cars could get out we don't have snow plows here...
Christmas was quiet as expected, my son stood me up on Christmas eve so we did the pizza on Christmas day instead...he got confused when I sent him a text that said Lets have pizza and watch a movie tomorrow...but he read it the next day so he thought that meant tomorrow...So then he texted me back on Christmas Eve and said OK see you tomorrow at 5...sooo it was okay in the end he didn't want to do the movies so I watched alone after he went back home...I am used to being alone now and being around someone else sort of puts me on edge...I've been pretty much alone since Jan of 2020 so almost 2 yrs.

I ate way too much garbage food...and there is still some of it around...next year I am not planning ANYthing....  MY cooking skills have just disappeared.  I tried to make a couple things, total fail!! 
The pizza was good right out of the box, and the beer was cold....so that was the best part. Didn't get to do the firepit, it drizzled a little tiny bit just enough to get the outside seating wet. 

I had wanted to see Mickey's Christmas Carol, it's a fav classic of mine, but it didn't come on...I should have Youtubed it,  I did see part of A Christmas Carol starring George C Scott, and I saw It's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart...all favs, and I watched the 2 Home Alone's made me chuckle for sure..so those were the only old friends I spent Christmas with. 

I got some gift cards to help me get thru January so I will get bird seed, and I think one tank of propane, so If I can't cut wood I wont have to I can use the gas heater...and I want some white paint to paint my front storm door it has some rust forming...and one Walmart card I think I will it go for dog food so I hope to survive after paying the huge freakin tax bill...The other day I gathered up some gold jewelry I don't have much, doubt I could get $1,000 for it all.  See the trouble is with such a huge leap this tax year it never goes down NOT in all the years of my life have taxes on property GONE DOWN...it only goes up..
Poor Jimmy the dog had to spend Christmas in the vets overnight  with pancreatitis...he came  home last night about 6 so the sisters had an interruption to their plans...but they took it in stride.  My BIL never sent me anything just a card it was a nice card tho....and my aunt and uncle both in their 80's now never  sent cards, so things are changing all the time.

Today I cleaned out the fridge...got rid of the half eaten jars of this and that...felt good but sorry to know glass is not being recycled in our center anymore.  Feels horrible to toss glass into the trash bin..

I believe this will be the last nearly/somewhat/almost but not quite fair election we will have in this country if you don't want to be living in a military state run by a dictator run for your life....you better leave now!  The Republican party is placing Ballot Boxes around Los Angeles that are not official...they will pick up those ballots and possibly open and destroy any that are not for their party...They prey on the weak and non attentive American.  The DA has ordered them to stop but they say they will continue to do it. I believe the GOP has become a terrorist organization bent on over throwing this country and they should be stopped...each Rep leader should be stripped of power and the entire party should be disbanded and revamped it's filled with vile, crooked, criminals.

Also hear this, right now before the election Trump adm gave huge subsidies to the farmers 40% of all farm income is now in form of a handout from the US Govt. That is buying loyalty...I personally think farm subsidies should be stopped!!  IF it's not a viable business why is it being done...they have crop insurance!! WTH???? I don't want to support a failing sector of the economy with my tax dollars. 

The GOP push their new judge into a seat that she does not deserve to sit in...they lied to the American public when they said they would not sit a justice in the last yr of the term...Lindsey pretty much signed his own pink slip with that one...Jamie Harrison raised more money this quarter than any other Democrat candidate running!! GO JAMIE you got my vote.

It's Tuesday and Jimmy goes to Denver for what I hope is his last check up he is doing really well...a great success story so there is the good in this picture.  My son has a job again that is good.  The fall weather will return tomorrow that is good...Im looking for some good news here...I don't have corona virus that is good.  

IM heading over to the cemetery today to remove mom's birthday balloon, I don't want it to blow away so I will put it away till next year it may or may not stay inflated hope it does..

Soon it will be time to put the Christmas wreath sis bought for her last year on her crypt...that is probably the only decorating I will do.  Im not in the mood for all the Materialism that has become Christmas, and it's all about family it's only me and my son he has little interest but we will probably have a meal or something...
Last yr my sis who was still here put on a small Christmas for us, that is the kind I prefer the little tree stood on a table, it was 12 inches tall...and we each opened up a tiny prezzie..and we had a simple meal with a toast to our missing loved ones...that's all it needs to be about.  

Since I can't bring myself to believe Jesus was the son of a God it has never had religious significance to me. It was always been about getting together with family and having a day of laughs and good food and good moods. 

Last night I dreamed I moved! I was living somewhere else...and it felt nice.  This morning I looked at homesteads in New Mexico...a house with no electric no running water on 8 acres $35,000 It was in the desert how could you live in there with no AC if I go off grid it has to be at least  8,000 ft to be cool in summer.  I'll keep looking.  

I feel oddly out of sorts mentally today.  I can't put my finger on it, but I feel unsettled I think this election has me questioning my own believe system, the rules I was raised to support and believe in are being tromped to death...it makes one question ,"okay if that's all hogwash now then what am I  supposed to think or feel."  Most of my extended family in TN, MI, and IN support the other side...they are trapped in a time machine that quit moving in 1865. 

 I got in mine and blasted myself into the future...me and my 3 sisters..NO wonder my Mom was so Happy to get out of TN and when she left she told my Dad Im not leaving here you go where you want but this is my home now.  I guess she felt free to be away from that oppressiveness, it is a real feeling when you think you're rights are being manipulated by people who are the exact opposite  of  who you are.  Very helpless feeling. 

Im sure if we had a huge anti GOP demonstration Trump would use F-15's to fry  us on the spot...I mean look at the violence the small protests of the summer caused.  We are watching the fall of a democracy.  It makes me feel really sad and very deflated.  

Well I'm just one person who has no power and my life will soon come to an end...I hope there is some connection to the afterworld cause I want to know...

Many indigenous people believe there is a civilization of humans living below ground...maybe that is where the souls go when we put our loved one beneath the soil..

I really hope voters don't go there THIS YEAR.. thinking what's the use...I read in the NY Times,  much of what was said at the RNC was hogwash...in fact NOT even close to reality,  shows how people actually do believe this propaganda! 
Speakers continued to tell their audience that the violence we are experiencing is Joe's America while Joe is not even in OFFICE..putting the blame at the feet of the opposition party is just a narcissist ploy to deflect blame,  a mind worm...one set to blow on Nov 3rd.  It is a snowglobe they are shaking...everything that is going on today is Donald's to own. No he did not create the virus but his deflection shows me he feels he mishandled it.

Donald, his wife, and his Sec of State violated the Hatch ACT by holding RNC business at the White House, in the Rose Garden...and on a trip to a foreign country paid for by our tax dollars, Pompeo gave a speech from there a political speech..It is a def violation no matter how they Spin it.

I accidentally said it was Barr in Israel yesterday when I was putting out some of Barr's recent statements along with Pompeo's plan to speak from Israel I typed Barr's name in both paragraphs.

 I had too much going in my little brain...anyways I know it's Pompeo, just called  him Barr...what do you think?? I think THEY get away with doing all sorts of atrocities they are the party of corruption and that is what they are promoting.

Did you know 30% of Latino's voted for Trump in 2016?  Que demonios??? Maybe now with 3 yrs of him showing how he really feels about them: trying to deport DACA children, Building a wall around Mexico all murderer's and rapists as he said.., and  promoting Private (meaning white) Schools, they now know he is NOT favorable to them.  The VP of the Navajo nation spoke for Donald, while the President of the Navajo Nation spoke for Joe, confusing I would say...most Navajo are not favorable of the illegals coming  in from Mexico and they supported Donnie's Wall...hope they didn't really think that would stop the illegals. The Navajo VP said Donald had put more money into the Navajo economy than any other president...he was referring to the CARES Act which was initiated by Congress not by Trump.

The VP of the Navajo asked for the death sentence of Navajo Mr Mitchell, who killed 2 people in a car jacking in 2001, be commuted to life.  I figured in exchange for backing up Donald and speaking at the convention he would get it,  that never happened...he didn't commute that sentence, instead he pardoned a bank robber Jon Ponder who was released from jail in 2004 and started the Hope for Prisoner's program...Trump keep touting his justice reform bill it's only on the Federal level...IT does not shorten the terms of people in State Pens...What is he talking about when he says he has done more for blacks than any other President?  I just don't see it, how so?

AG Barr brought back the enforcement of the Death Penalty to Fed Prisons which has not been enforced for 17 yrs. 42% of the people on Federal Death Row are Black, while the 4 men being put to death this summer are white except Mr Mitchell who is Navajo.

The Donald Party portrayed themselves as exactly the opposite of how they really are...they pretend to be proponents of immigrants, they pretend to care about human rights, they say they are the party for the people, truthfully they have imprisoned immigrants in the border camps while denying simple human rights,  they have pardoned their own corrupt political advisors, and only care about millionaires and billionaires.   

Most of the speakers of color who came out of the woodwork to speak up for HIM showed up rather suddenly and out of no where...possibly they were PAID to speak.  I know when pushed on the Today show after his speech, Tim Scott would not back up Trump's lie that mail in voting was fraudulent.  HE was asked twice "do you agree with Trump that mail in voting is rigged or fraudulent" HE would not answer he danced all over it...He said he has confidence in our systems...

It's all a snow job, there is NO Republican Policy. Their policy is whatever comes up, blame Joe Biden or "they" as Trump likes to say..."they" meaning anyone who is not for him.  

Meanwhile the man who was shot in the back and paralyzed is handcuffed to his hospital bed!   He can't even walk and his family is asking "why is he under arrest"...
I did not know this is a country where if a Policeman  gives you a "command" you have to follow it to the letter, or he can kill you?? That's not what it says in the 11th Amendment? I read Innocent Until Proven Guilty!

This morning I mowed the grass in my yard it was very tall again with all the rain we have had.  My fruit tress wilted in the pots yesterday so I moved them into the shade, they may not be able to take this strong heat, I may have to pull my planting locations into shade a little bit, of course once in the ground their roots can pull moisture from farther away...I will mulch good also. 

I got the pear tree in the ground, it looks happy. 1 down 3 to go... I put it within the 50 ft area of the Kieffer I already had. I made a circle of wire around it hopefully that will deter any antler rubbing from the deer. 

If the weather permits I will get the 2 apple in the ground tomorrow... we may get winds of 20 mph or more due to TS Laura...bending around heading east and we could get more rain...we have dried out for the past 2 days..

Jimmy had his eye surgery yesterday to correct blindness due to cataracts.  Most diabetic dogs develop cataracts within 9 months of contracting the disease. The vet said he was happy with the way the surgery went but one eye the ocular pressure was higher than he liked so he was rechecked  this morning...and I'm waiting to hear how that went they return home today.

The bird is doing splendid..both eyes are open and she can see quite well now...still a slight red  on the rim of the eyes... I will treat her one and maybe 2 more days then she will be released.
I saw one more bird in the yard who is afflicted hopefully I will be able to help him too...this time it's a male. I cleaned all the feeders with a bleach solution, I need to do that weekly for a while.  These house finch live in such large tight groups they pass it around easily. 

Not much else going on that I care to share, Friday again, just another day anymore.  OH  the mower, blades....I don't have the right size socket, so I have to make a trip to the Auto parts or hardware where I can get a 15/16 standard socket or 24mm Not gonna happen today cause after the tree planting and the mowing part of which I did with the push mower, Im bushwhacked...

I pushed the flat part of the yard so I could collect some grass clippings with the bagger for my compost pile and did the rest with the riding mower. 

Last week of August...Next week is Labor Day!

We  have this huge political mess to get over.  I really hope the GOP gets burnt to the ground, lose all their upcoming races, they deserve it.  I listened to Bernie, and Michelle Obama speak at the Dem. Convention which was so much better than all that balloon dropping silliness...the hoopla is not attractive to me when it's such serious business we are doing.  An insane man is trying to lead an Oligarchy overthrow of our Govt, and the beer bellied with no conscious cheer them on because they have no plan, no future, and while Im at it no brains.  I know I'm not being very open minded here but really? I have nothing in common with the Right.

I agreed with what Bernie had to say he has always been a straight shooter...he is not afraid to call it like it is, and I think he would have made an excellent President...however  how can  you ever expect the beer bellies to vote for him? So back to the center, it's ok one day maybe when we split this nation in 2 East and West America...I could see that happening if this White Nationalist attitude is not squashed. The middle ground sank.

You see what is going on in Belarus, that is what could, and an attempt is being made, happen here...with Trump openly trying to stop the VOTE and saying he will not concede...I hope he is dragged out of the White House in handcuffs that is where he belongs. OH and just for fun on the way out I want someone to mess up his hair...a huge gust of wind even---I know amazing right?

Here on my home front it POURED rain last night I'd say 3 inches in a hour..and now it's gloomy and over cast the type weather that makes me want to put the blanket over my head and stay there...I had some plans in the back of my mind but not gonna happen today.  I do have some mediocre chores to take care of,  no walk cause the sky could open up again any minute...unless it clears up and who knows it could. 

I want to put some corn down in the field for the deer the fawn, a young buck with 2 fresh antlers on his head, and a doe came into the field right about dusk last night so I think they would like some corn...and I need to check the bird feeders after a big rain like that to scrape the wet seed out. Not very exciting stuff. 
Next week Jimmy the dog goes to Denver for his eye surgery...all together I think we raised about $700 and Mom donated $1,000 out her funds, which I manage, and hope soon to split up once all her hospital bills are final.

It will not be an easy trip since I-70 is closed for a 30 mile section due to the Grizzly Creek fire raging north of Glenwood Springs...So if the highway does not open my sisters will have to travel an extra 3 hrs to go over Independence Pass which is a highway straight out of hell, one of the worst I've ever driven...it is pretty country and all but it's a dangerous road to drive with no guard rail, and so narrow in spots the white line is the only thing separating you from the  crumbled edge and steep drop off's...SO I really am hoping for RAIN...to put that fire out!! Join me in that wish if you will.

Okay that's all I got sorry it was so scattered that's my brain today.
