Lazy Day

OOD GATHERING in the afternoon, after a lazy start to this cold day.
Im about to rummage thru my left overs to see what I may come up with for dinner,  I split a small pile of wood, and now my back is aching.  But it will be fine.  I want to get back to walking again.  I've been a complete failure in that regard.  I don't enjoy walking in this neighborhood as I once did.  A lot of loose dogs, a lot of people zooming down the road and it has gotten narrow and steep sided due to the grader operator who is not as talented as the one who retired was.

It's Sunday and nothing going on that Im in the mood to share.  I brushed out the coats of my two mutts and they smell better now.   Annie is curled up in what was Casey's napping bed, I did not have the heart to put it away and not the one in the bedroom either it sits vacant. But now both these girls will take turns using the one in the sitting room to nap by the fire  here in the evenings.

Its 4:40 in the afternoon, and the sun has created long shadows leaning east...the sky is partly cloudy and the last light of day is just a really bright golden spot off to the west.  Earlier the birds were busy getting in a last meal before they roost for the night and I will soon do the same.  Last night I went out behind the shed after dark to get some extra wood, and I spooked a bird who has been roosting on the long handle of a rake I've got hanging back there,,,,Im curious to know what bird it is...It sounded big!

Last evening my son came over we watched one horror movie, pretty yukky then we finished up with a few episodes of the Alfred Hitchcock Presents he enjoyed some left overs and then had a snooze...The A. H. Presents  are 1/2 hour mysteries and so well done.  Nothing of the day can top that or the Twilight Zone, and a few others that I really enjoyed.  It was really good to see the sets since season one was made in 1955.  The cars, the interior of the homes, the way people dressed all so much more civilized.  People were polite to each other even the bad guys...lol

Well it was fun...we saw all sorts of character actors we know from other roles, Aunt Bee from Mayberry, Grandma Walton, Bat Masterson, just to name a few...
I don't know if he  is coming tonight he was supposed to come over today to put a light bulb in for me that's outside up high...HE Offered I didn't ask, cause you know I rarely ask for help.  But I know he will do it, just don't know when.
Okay time to eat and light this fire I got ready toI will probably catch up on youtubes and stream a movie later...
TTFN.
