Monday Wonderings...

ONDERFUL NEWS...negative test result.

Monday....
I was so happy to get my test result email this morning Negative...SO I don't have to worry about going about my life  and passing around a virus....I will  continue to follow guidelines.  Whew....I did not want to be in quarantine  again...This illness did not feel like the other one, but during these times ANY symptom leaves you guessing...so I am happy I got tested...Our state is still bringing in 11% of the people tested as positive, over 150,000 so far!

I still feel off tho, stuffy head, mentally not sharp blah if you will, some headache, and a little cough...so I guess upper respiratory due to the pollen and dust..now we have some rain so add mold n mildew...I don't know ---->who knows...It is becoming cold and flu season.

So today the Hearings on the replacement Sup Court  Judge begin not looking forward to that but guess what? our Democratic Challenger to Lindsey Graham, Jamie Harrison an African American,  raised more money in this quarter than any other Democrat...People really Want Lindsey OUT...and some super pacs have been running ads against Graham too...I will be so glad when its all over with, the ads are back to back on Internet, TV, and YouTube all places I spend my free time..

So in my life not much since yesterday I had calls from both my sisters and I enjoyed that, it  rained off and on, I watched a Youtube Movie in the afternoon, called Cardboard Boxer, a brutal movie not my normal thing to watch...what started it was my sister had gotten a copy of it at the library and she sent me a link to the "trailer" on Youtube...and when I went to see the trailer it was about a homeless man...SO I thought wow I was just recalling Leon...and bam a movie about homeless ness...so Youtube had the movie Free to watch with Ads...so I added it to my watch later and did..

It was tough to watch in parts violence, adult material, I lead a rather sheltered life in that regard, it's just me, so I pick and chose accordingly...it was however Im sure right on for the reality of living ones life on the street due to in this guys case,  mental problems, addictions, alcohol, veterans with no place to go, and just plain lost and alone.  Very sad situation...

IF I was homeless I would move to a small town find an abandoned building and set up homesteading, or squatter's rights...IF you move onto a piece of property and make improvements to it over a period of 7 yrs you have squatters rights!! Meaning legally you can stay there!!  ANYWAYS I would rather forage and live off the land than beg for money from strangers.  I think I would do better, one man who was homeless in NYC had a can and bottle business...he spent h is entire day getting aluminum cans and bottles out of garbage cans on the street corners...And he had a huge Pile in his shopping cart it was 8 ft high!! I don't know how he did it, but he had a tarp around his cart and  he tossed his cans in the top and it looked like a hot air balloon.
In NYC when I lived there, they had in place these "vending machines" and in those you put plastic, glass, and aluminum  and it would grind the plastic, break the glass, and crush the cans!! You fed them in one by one...and you got a ticket with an amount on it go into the store and get cash for your items!!
This man used to go around yelling "who says you can't live on $20 a day?"  and he seemed quite content with his lifestyle.

So enough on homelessness. lets talk about moving to Canada.   So the border is closed how we gonna move to Canada if DT wins the election?? I don't think he will he is a full 10 points below Biden at this point...I heard the Trump people made up a clip that made Dr Fauci angry put together out of various clips and taken completely out of context to make it appear he is saying Trump is cured and OK..Fauci never said that...
Trump now says he is Immune from getting or spreading the virus...but he sure is spreading LIES and Dishonesty!  The big winner of the VP debate was the fly I think...

Okay so I got things to do, not feeling up to the couch end today that can wait till I fell much better I think I over did it on Saturday and that is why I felt so bad yesterday I barely strayed from my perch on the couch...it's gloomy and Columbus day.   Always a debate over that the guy who was lost when he arrived here....he thought he was in India so I don't really think we need a federal holiday for him...but what do I know.

I still have hummingbirds the 2 that showed up are  hanging around maybe they are waiting on the storm to clear the gulf before resuming their trip to South America...Funny, these tiny birds know how to fly to South America without the help of any instruments...we need a National Hummingbird Day, at least they know WHERE they are going and HOW to get there!!

Are we There Yet?

HAT TIME IS IT?

It's still early I woke up early again...the new me needs less sleep and is tired all day..hmmm
Not liking the new me much the one year older me, the one who seems to spend more time thinking about what I would rather be doing.  I guess we are all like that I haven't ran into one person who says OH I LOVE MY LIFE...why is it we humans can't get to happy and stay there??

I will say this I think much of our unhappiness comes from outside us, I disagree with some phycologists when they say you create your own inner peace.  OK yes IF we are left to it...but if we are constantly being interrupted by the outside world, the answer is to move to a deserted island? HEY WILSON...that guy was not exactly happy either.  Happiness is a state of mind...for sure.  So only the most vile self center sob could just seal him/her self off from the events of today and the people around them and think only of themself and how They are, and  to hell with everyone else, is that the happy one?? NO thank you I sure don't want to be that person.

Yes I want tranquility and serenity, but if someone in my circle is not happy, then I'm not happy! That is just the way it is.  Yes you can and I have removed  unhappy seed planters, but if it's your family or even your extended family how can you do that?  Even homeless people on the street will speak to you about their family the ones who have given up on them because they tried everything...trust me they are still emotionally connected.

I have an example...when I worked EMS in Queens NY...we got numerous calls for ETOH abuse.  Alcoholics living on the street...eating from garbage cans and hand outs and they would take what they got pool it, and go into the liquor store and buy one bottle as big as their combined coins would buy then they pass it around.  If they had a bad day with no money for food or drink they would call an ambulance and say they had a seizure.  They probably did have a seizure because alcohol passes through the blood/brain barrier, and it depletes the brain of sugar and this is the energy of the brain...when your sugar goes too low you could have a seizure.

Most of these guys were what we called frequent fliers.  Meaning weekly transports...etc.  And many we knew by name.  One such guy, who was one of my frequent fliers, was a man in his 30's his name was Leon.  He hung outside the liquor store or on that corner...he was homeless and he had nothing more than what was on his back.  He held no possessions at all.  He would sleep on a bench cover up with discarded newspapers, and he hung with others sometimes to pool resources.  He often spoke of a sister who he had lived with but she had a family and she could not take him in any longer...I can only imagine the pain she went through watching her brother destroy himself.

He said he had been married at one time he was a  construction worker but as far as how he got to this point I did not know. I'm sure it happened gradually and even he was not aware of what was happening as the life  he once had fell away second by second day by day.  Often the people around you are powerless to help.  If they have no money to get you into treatment, there is little free treatment that works and is long term, and fails to follow up and then...relapse...it's the revolving door policy but that does not cure the sick.

I don't know when this country decided to do away with proper mental health care?  Anyways back to Leon's story...he was quite a sight to behold his face was so red he looked sunburned year round...his eyes tho a nice blue were yellowed from jaundice of liver disease...as well as most of his skin.   He smelled really bad...in fact we used to put on a mask  when around him because the smell was so offensive.
There was a pay phone Leon used to phone us and we would generally pick him up there and take him to Jamaica hospital.  It would come over dispatch as this "the seizure at Jamaica and Myrtle, see Leon at the pay phone."  That's how much of regular he was... he would be given a meal to eat...probably an IV with dextrose for his sugar, and sometimes a shower...depending on the nurse he got but he would be given his same dirty clothes to put back on when he was released sometimes that same day depending on how busy they were.  The staff always wanted to call family to pick him up but he always refused and left to find his way back to his corner alone.  At one time he had a bike...some other guy knocked him out and took it a couple years ago...and he still grumbled about that stolen bike.

One Christmas I had a decent partner for a change and he said I have an idea....so we went to a bakery and bought a flat of donuts and 2 large coffees.  We drove down to the pay phone and there was Leon and his mates all hanging out some were sober or as sober as they get since it was early in the day...We  got out and passed out donuts and poured coffee into cups for them...that was my MOST favorite Christmas memory of the almost 7 years I spent in NYC...I recall Leon saying Merry Christmas to us and he really meant it, as he  devoured the precocious sugar his brain and body needed.

It put tears on my face and it was the last time I saw Leon!  He actually died in the hospital not long after that...what I heard was he was transported to the ER and they put him in an isolation room.  They did not give him proper treatment and he had a massive seizure and died.   I was really sad when I learned of that.  I could only imagine how devastated his family was as I have felt that loss myself.

I don't begin to understand just how unhappy you must be to completely destroy yourself like suicide or the slow way like Leon did but just take your most  unhappy day and extrapolate from that...pretty damn sad I say.  This country is sick...we are a sick society.  I think capitalism is at the root of this sadness.  Either we  have too little or we have too much or the struggle to move in either direction is a heavy burden...

The well to do take Something to help them unwind and sleep so they can get up and go it again...the poor use drugs or alcohol to forget they are not where they want to be or living how they want to live.  We have either been or on our way there.  Wish I had some answers I have plenty of questions.  I always think solving the problem is the answer but solve one and another takes it place, it's like soldiers on the battle field one falls another one takes it's place but still a soldier with a battle to fight.

So where are the happy people?   I see all this Christmas crap being put on the shelves of stores and all I can think of is Leon on that corner with powdered sugar on his face saying "Merry Christmas".
Where are the happy people.....?

Creepy things...

ET, Rainy, Quiet Saturday...

My couch is a sectional it's old from the 90's and it was made by Lazy Boy.  It has recliners on each end where there is an arm and of course I have tables on each side...
These seats get the most use so the foam cushioning has deteriorated on these 2 sections..
With my background in upholstery I know what I need to do to make it comfortable again..so I did that today on one end...it took most of the day and it made a huge difference in the way it sits...I thought of making a DIY for my You Tube channel but honestly I don't think most laymen or DIY'r would want to tackle this as it's dangerous and a little tricky with the zig zag springs and all the mechanisms of the recliner that can easily trap your arms or hands and chop off your fingers!! I wish this had reversible loose cushions but it's a tight seat on a frame so I had to unbolt the seat take it out and remove the cover and put new padding in the seat then replace the cover, bolt it back in and put all back together.

I may tackle the other end tomorrow if it's another rainy day and I think it will be.  I hope the second piece will be easy to just open up the seat and slide the new padding in....if there is no damage to the springs....the piece I did today some of the springs had slipped so I had to do extra work.

My arms are feeling stiff  because this sofa is very big and heavy I had to flip it over on its' front, And then I had to lift it back over and a lot of tugging took place so my back and arms are now feeling the effects of that effort.

I spent the last hour watching the Great British Bake Off...a very fine hour spent and I learn so much from them.  Not so much about baking but about how to be supportive of your competitors, such a civilized thing.

My son begins his first day at his new job tomorrow...he is trying out some retail right now.  I don't think he is going to like it but it's not up to me...I did 7 months retail myself when I first moved back to SC from NY.  I hated it.  I think he is going to be actually working in the stock room so not dealing with the public but inventory and intake..so we'll see!

It's Saturday Night and Svengoolie begins in 5 mins...If I make it to the end without falling asleep I will let you know how it was....Tonight it's Tarantula, I have low tolerance for spiders....YIKES....in this area we have 2 dangerous spiders we have to beware of...
The Black Widow and the Brown Recluse.  BOTH hideous to look at 'shivers' and both harmful in a different way the Black Widow is identified by the red hour glass on the abdomen. The female kills her mate after mating. They are the most venomous spider in North America but not usually deadly to humans but they can cause some paralysis of the diaphragm! You should seek medical attention if bitten.

The Brown Recluse is a large brown Hairy spider...he has shape like a Fiddle on his back...very creepy.  They bite and cause necrosis of the tissue...you should seek medical attention.

The Tarantula is present in the desert South West here in the USA and Mexico...they also can cause problems if you are bitten...from short term pain to long term spasms.  SO the key is to NOT get bitten by spiders!!

1955 Directed and Written by Jack Arnold
Starring Leo G Carroll from The Man from Uncle fame.  And he played the butler in Topper, Clint Eastwood has a cameo role...
So the movie has begun, and they have found the first dead person out in the desert...they are trying to solve the problem of world hunger, by injecting  an atomic isotope growth hormones  into animals...they have guinea pigs as big as regular pigs! And one of the lab victims is a SPIDER and it's big sooooo I can see what's going to happen!  Here is one sentence I copied from the website's description of the movie:

Deemer assumes that his dead assistant had injected himself with the serum as a test, though it was not yet fully perfected ( a cautionary lesson for all, with what’s going on in the world).

Even Svengoolie has gotten political...Trumps Warp Speed Virus Vaccine for example...so this isotope when injected in humans creates a disfigurement similar to acromegaly like  Andre the Giant had...So then the spider got out....utoh..and the afflicted assistant has injected the Professor with the serum.  But the assistant was killed and the professor buried him out back 😨 And then he lied when asked about his assistant he said "oh he is not working here anymore."  So they will end up bringing out the airforce to  destroy the Giant Arachnid from the air!! Im sure they will try GUNS first...LOL As usual...if it's a threat SHOOT IT, American mentality.

So time to curl up on the couch cover up with my favorite fleece blanket and Watch TARANTULA as he terrorizes the Arizona town!!

A sign of the time?

HEN POLITICANS TRY TO KILL US...

Now the type thing we are used to hearing about in Russia where people outspoken against Putin die mysteriously or nearly die and are saved only by quick action of by standers, is happening right here in the USA.  Trump basically inspired a hit on the Governor of Michigan.  She is a never Trumper and he has had it in for her since she was elected in 2019. As reported on CNN online this is a statement the governor made:

"We have a choice between a leader who is going to have his minions attack people when they are being targeted by domestic terror groups, and we have a leader who calls to see how you're doing, to check in and to see what they can do to be supportive," Whitmer said. "It tells you everything you need to know about the character of the two people on this ballot that we have to choose from in a few weeks."

So if Trump wins it will seal our fate for many  years....I can almost see it  now that next his even more vile SONs will put their names on a Ballot somewhere...and want to continue to push the perverted ideas of the GOP even farther into the future.  So 13 white supremacists were arrested in a plot to kidnap and kill the Governor.  Armed Militia's must be stopped...the constitution has to be amended...if this trend continues soon the violence is going to spill right out into suburbia.

Violence in Politics has always been accepted in other nations...now it's here in the USA...soon the next level of violence will be as Trump called Militia to Stand BY at polls...this is a direct threat to the American Voting Public...yet was he warned BY any official to knock it OFF?? NO So I hope the CIA and the FBI has put his name on one of their Watch Lists!  He is inciting violence, voter suppression, and domestic terrorism.  He is a dictator masquerading as a Democratic President. Evil Person so very Evil.  He is not fit to be a county councilman let alone a President.

---------------------------------------------------      -------------------------------------------------
I woke up at 5 am NOT feeling well have a temperature of 98.1 that's high for me.  It's been steady climbing every day...I got Covid tested yesterday so with a weekend now coming I doubt I will know anything till the end of next week.  I hope Im feeling fit as a fiddle by then.  (Im cured, Im Immune, I havent felt this good in 20 yrs NOT) How many other people who had covid came out saying that??ONLY one that I know of!!

So none of my "to do" list is going to move forward this weekend, the way Im currently feeling.  A weekend of rain is predicted for my area due to Delta the 5th storm to hit the gulf coast this year...the areas just got their electric grid back on line from the last storm.  After Hugo gave us a direct hit in 1989 we had no power for 11 days we were cooking on the grill in the yard...the debris piles were still on the curbs of the people in town at Halloween when we took our son around to trick or treat.  Of course we had 5 big trees we cut up and burned here on our place...but it took months for that to happen as we had to cut it up then wait for it to dry out enough to burn...and we did it over a period of time.

It took a long time to get things put back to "normal".   The town was over run with sham contractors who would roof your house in 2 days then GONE to the next county over to do the same...you'd never get a chance to see if it leaked....a lot of people got taken advantage of.  We had to have a roof...and now that roof is leaking again...dang. But how many years old is it...lets see its 31 years well some of it is...  I plan to apply for a USDA Rural Development Grant...I have the application and have had it since I first got sick....I pretty much forgot about it....but I plan to print it out and get moving on that.

I just heard some geese fly over.  Have  you ever stood beneath a flock of large birds flying...the sound of their beating wings is an amazing thing.  I hope to get some of these deferred chores caught up so I can spend my time out birding again...the summer was so hot I got nothing done.  NOW If I can  feel well again I can knock most of those todo's out of the ball park.  So Today is Friday as I type tomorrow is Saturday and time for classic thrillers...I heard it's going to be  Tarantula!! Of course I get the creeps just seeing a daddy long legs so this should be interesting...Remember Arachnophobia.    OH MY I was screaming all thru that one.

Last  night I sort of watched a movie Bruce Willis a retired CIA Black Ops guy dragged back into the fray and the whole thing was about the Vice President of the US was using the CIA as his own personal "hit squad" and now I can see that is not a far fetched idea at all.  We all know the USA has murdered world leaders they hid the path back to  them so well...but we all know they did it...ones I suspect the CIA was involved in , Dr King, JFK, and RFK, just to name a few. All Democrats, all Liberal all murdered....that is NOT a co-incidence..

Simple things to get excited about is where I am in life right now.  Any little thing to look forward to gives me hope.  When I saw those families on Adventures With Purpose getting the news of their loved one being found deceased it really brought home to me how much I have to be thankful for...I have suffered great loss over the past 2 yrs but at least it was swift I can't imagine not knowing if my loved one is alive or dead for months and months...And in the case of Nicholas Allen his mom read his journal and she pretty much figured out he went to the river bank because that was his go to spot when he was down and out.  She pleaded with the law enforcement to check that river, they never did!  This is what gets under my skin...society touts law enforcement as Heroes...but are they ??  They sure did nothing to help that family and then flew in and took credit for the find, after AWP had done all the work finding the car in the water!! That's not heroic in my book...it's down right pathetic.  AWP does not charge a fee for dragging these abandoned cars out of the rivers, they do it to clean up the environment and to help ordinary and sometimes desperate people get answers.

I will give a wrap up of the movie on my next post...have a super weekend what ever you end up doing!

Updates

OW...
Another Friday???

I just couldn't help wondering as I just wrote in My L, A, J blog, if a lizard tongue would swoop out of Pence's mouth and zap that fly off his head...LOL..I was so focused on the fly I have no clue what he was saying...all lies anyways so didnt mean anything I kept hoping he would impress me in a tiny way but he didn't.

Kamala held it together pretty well I thought...her mouth flew open a couple times when Pence told some whoppers can't blame her on that.  She had answers he had rhetoric.
The question he asked I was shouting to her but she didnt hear me...(LoL) he answered it himself...he said
"a sitting president has the right to appoint a Justice of the Supreme Court" so if they need to put on a extra judge it seems well within their right to do so...SO what's the problem?? If he is within  his right to do?? Hey we have old laws on the books it is not in our best interest to NOT revamp our system..the electoral college, the way policing is done, the voting system, the lack of employment protection laws, all of this is due to the run away capitalism in this nation even the POPE pointed it out.

Okay the debate last night I learned nothing new...now Trump keeps flip flopping as he has done for nearly 4 years, and Pence twisting the facts to suit his narrative...Im just done with GOP period...if they don't revamp that party we will have a single party system and it won't be THEM.

It's sunny today and I still feel off...I can't quite explain it....just feel off.  I did lose my sense of taste completely, I did a covid survey yesterday...and I answered yes to every question except trouble breathing.  But this morning I am having some shortness of breath upon any exertion which is not normal for me so I went to the Health Dept and got tested...it was easy no wait no cost to me, and they did it right outside they are set up in the parking area...But I wont know for a week...they will email me.  Is it possible, this thing rattles around inside you for eternity?

I also stepped into the voter registration office and verified my card is good and Im on the rolls..and I am, good to go on the 3rd.  Early voting turnout has been very brisk.
So the guy who killed George Floyd got out on bond....somehow he got his hands on $100,000 dollars and he is now a free man....I  think he may skip he is not going to get his 10% of the million back and I think he should be in fear for his life while he is on the outside.

Speaking of that brings me to this...I don't know if I mentioned it here but I subscribe to a Youtube channel called Adventures With Purpose. They recover cars, and other things that are dumped or accidentally end up in bodies of water, rivers, lakes, ponds, etc.   So I have watched them pull cars out of rivers and find bodies in the cars! So they went on a road trip tour hoping to solve some missing persons cases...and they solved 2 already!!
Well I can't say solved but found 2 missing persons' remains and now maybe there can  be  solution...
The first case was a 17 yo male who went missing in NC his name is Nicholas Allen and he disappeared in his mother's car about 8 months ago...he was found in the car in the Yadkin River.  His mother had a feeling he was in the river she suspects suicide.  So her sister contacted AWP to come search for her son..,and they found  him and then they contacted the local police and they took over immediately.  AND the cops in that situation would not allow AWP to get the car out of the water it takes them no time at all it took the cops team hours to do it...and he was inside they never even gave mention to AWP finding the car!!

Then they left and went to Georgia to look for Natalie Jones.  She disappeared on July 4th after a party...she is the mother of 2 sons and her family has been looking for her.  So they contacted AWP to see if they could find her in any of the waterways where her phone last pinged.  So they did an interview with the family it was on their facebook and their Youtube channel.  And so they began to search the waterway for the Pink car she was driving when she disappeared.

The next day they were getting ready to search the water and they heard over the police scanner that a PINK car was found on Roosterville Rd.  So Police were dispatched to the scene...and AWP got in their RV and headed over there...and the Pink car was found and contained her remains!! The strange thing is that car HAD NOT BEEN THERE prior to that day and she has been missing since 4th of July. So obviously someone who had that car in their possession PUT that car there after AWP began searching for Natalie...the car was found by a bush hogger who was cutting under power lines or something of that nature.  There is one person of interest her x boyfriend...

So AWP is making a difference in people's lives they have solved several missing person cases now...even tho they didn't find Natalie, it was them searching and putting her story out there in the community that forced the hand of SOMEONE who was listening to make a move toward resolution...I will be waiting on follow up videos to add more closure to these stories.

Check!

HY DID I DO THAT?

Go to Facebook...I really dislike Facebook...especially since I heard they are doing little to squash hate groups and posts bent toward hate...I do believe Twitter n Facebook have done irreparable damage to this country. I fell right in line with all the others on  a Nancy Pelosi post...all those trolls there telling her that her Stimulus bill is full of bloat for Poorly run Blue States, right out of Trumps mouth...so I challenged one person and said you sound exactly like Trump no one ever used those terms till he started using it you fell right into his pit...
So he says Pelosi is the one who is holding back the stimulus, so he cuts off all negotiations USING Twitter...or what ever it's called...and then says give the Americans' $1200 stand alone, and in a future bill we will give the Airlines 25 million!!   Nancy's entire bill was 2.2 trillion now he wants to give 25 million to Airline payrolls and another 35 million to small business... and $1200 to every American I think that may be more than 2.2 trillion, So he is doing the same thing just to a different group of people...

How does that help? Sure I would love to get $1200 but do we need to bail out an industry that we really don't need right now?  Put that money into AN unemployment package for ALL who lost their jobs! NOT just one sector...he is trying to say he bailed out the Air Industry like Joe Bailed out the Auto Industry...either way it doesn't put food on the table for many Americans who won't get any of that.
I reminded them Trump didn't pay taxes for years...and paid $750 for the last 2 at that point they left...no come back to that I guess.

Nancy's bill includes money for employers of Aliens who have a tax ID number, so HATE is at the bottom of this...they hate illegals so much they would starve them to death if need be...just to support Trump...I just don't get it but Im SO glad I don't!   :o)

Last night I watched on You Tube the debate between Jamie Harrison and Lindsey Graham...BOY Jamie danced rings around Graham.  I knew Graham was a Trump Puppet but didnt realize just how bad he was this is the first time Ive heard him speak on his own behalf and man he Stunk!! It was like night and day the ideas they have.

Tonight is the VP debate I will watch...I akin Pence to  one of those Roman Priests back in the day when they used to sacrifice virgins!! He is so totally creepy. I had never heard of the guy till Trump pulled him out from under some rock...I hope Kamala holds it together and doesn't come off as an angry black woman which sometimes she has a tendency to do...she has to appeal to the mainstream....I like her and I think she will do a fine job as VP.

So my deck is painted....its not a big deck it's 8 x 12..and one set of steps going down...the rails are the hard part, the dark red I did not have to repaint..it was some GOOD paint I had left over from when I painted Mom's front door...WISH I still had some of that paint.

I hope this paint holds up better than the other one did...I had used Thompson's Deck Stain the last time.  I also painted my metal chair again that  paint did not hold up  only one year? This time I went chartreuse on the color of it.  We've had so much rain this year I'd like to know in inches just  how much we had but I can't seem to find that data! This paint  is Cabot Deck Correct not Restore...I got that wrong, I wanted to get Restore but it was too expensive this one was $35 a gallon at Lowes I used about 1/2 the gallon...Mom's front porch needs a painting it's only the floor so I think this may be enough to do that.

Today I am  not feeling well again!! I started sneezing  on Sunday after I waded in the field of wild flowers...I figured it's hay fever from rag weed...dog fennel I don't normally get hay fever...so I have been taking Benadryl and yet it kept getting worse  this morning I had slight fever! 97.9      2 points up for ME and my throat is sore and I feel really fatigued.   IS it possible Covid is back for round 2?  I know some people have had it twice and most say they have continuing symptoms.  Damn. If I disappear you'll know why!!

We had fog this morning but its lifted now finally near noon.  I got worried it would rain but they say rain on the weekend...I want the deck to cure as long as possible before it rains!  I want to sit outside maybe later when it warms up a little bit more.
SO the chores I've accomplished lately:

Deck painted ✅
Fence Repaired
Van Spruce Up

Bedroom Rug
 Shampoo'd
Mom's Flowers Replaced
Rye Seeded Yard

And countless other less than one hour projects.  I love having plenty to keep me busy...no moss grows on me.  I was an industrious child as well...when I was only a young girl  of about 13, I made curtains for my sister and my shared bedroom.  NO one helped me or suggested it, Someone gave my sister a bolt of cloth and she did nothing with it. SO I asked her if I could have it and she gave it to me...I made curtains and matching bed spreads for our twin beds! It was a scratchy linen of blue n green typical 70's pattern...pretty hideous but it worked and served the purpose...Im the kind that will try to improve a cardboard box if need be.  No surprise I started my own business at age 22 and kept it going 26 yrs! I did re-upholstery...everything from fine antiques to lazy boys recliners to boat, rv, and airplane seats...the only thing I refused was to cover deer stands!! NO you want sit out and kill deer you won't do it with my help.

I hope after lunch I will feel better, but honestly that may not happen.  :o((
My sisters are off to Meeker today to photo some headstones on a project sis is working on.
I recall  going there many times when I was out there...it's a sweet little town...wish I was joining them today.

Another big project I plan to do soon is more cosmetic work on my van...it just looked tired and run down so any little thing I could do would be an improvement.  So I painted the bumper covers that had been so faded, and the running boards that the paint had chipped off of and had cracked...and I scrubbed up the rims so they shine again.  It has a fiberglass top and when they painted it they put a clean coat on it big mistake, it's flaking off and looks horrible.  I tried to touch it up but honestly that made it worse.  SO I plan to sand it down as best I can and repaint the top I think a paint like that bed liner stuff that has some texture will do a good job and the imperfections won't show up as much??

I have to work on a ladder so I must be feeling 100% to do that.

Time Erased...

HEN ROOSTERS CROW..

Tuesday oct 6th.
It means the sun is rising...so this morning I was up before the roosters began to crow.  It also means another day is put to history!  Forever enchained....I don't know if that's a word, I just typed it.  Gregg Braden thinks that we live in cycles.  And within this cycle is when "time" is right for certain things to happen.  He actually wrote an algorithm that can predict when the time is right for certain events to occur.  We are now on a path of repeating the past! In 2012 a huge cycle of 26,000 years renewed,  according to the Mayan calendar, which is the best record we have of past cycles.  We don't have history references to show us what happened except some geological past we have dug up...so we have no clue what is coming!!

Yes I hear roosters every day my neighbor has a few...they moved here about 10 yrs ago from Virginia...I don't even know their names they did introduce themselves to Mom when they moved here but she  couldn't recall their name and I never bothered as I don't believe getting chummy with neighbors is a good idea.  I learned that the hard way.

So they had one child she was in 4-H and as her project they decided to get a flock of chickens and in the process they got 2 roosters...Cock a doodle do...then they got a horse and a donkey...or burro.  I thought he had passed away because I hadn't seen him in a long time but I think what happened is they moved the horse and the burro for the summer, now they are back and he brayed loudly the other day...goats tho make the most annoying of all barnyard sounds  and they will jump on anything, like the hood of your car...and peacocks...Don't ever get a peacock unless you want your neighbors to wish death to you several times a day.

As far as pigs go they smell bad, and cows do too...long ago...when an old house stood about a mile from here I saw a sight that I won't soon forget....this was in the early 80's.  I live on a dirt road it was cut into this wooded lot and  sections were sold off in 3, 4, 5 acre homestead plots we bought one, then the adjoining one later on and we had about 9.5 acres.

One day my dogs started to really go crazy...back then it was Sam the German Shepherd and Fred the Doxie...so I went to see what was the ruckus about...the trees were smaller then so I could clearly see the road...and there came an elderly Black lady leading a milk cow that pulled a small cart of some sort with her belonging's on it, and a youngster following behind.

They went down the road, at a slow pace...and later we learned she had become homeless and she moved herself and her grandson who had been left with her, probably at birth, into the abandoned house down the road.  That house was nearly falling  down but they moved into it...there was a small barbed wire fenced area in back where someone had at one time had a few barnyard critters so she put her cow in there and they stayed there...maybe one year?
No water no electric...we used to see the boy stand outside waiting for the school bus.  I know they got help from a small church that is nearby even the church has been abandoned since then.  We heard she got sick and was taken to a nursing home and I have no idea what happened to the boy.  Sad story.

That house was later the object of an arsonists it was burned to the ground...along with several others in the county; they never solved those crimes.  I went in the house and took photos of it, and did a blog post about it in 2008.   I liked that old house it was quite a landmark for us who lived near it...

2008

                                                                           2010
Even this chimney and fireplace is gone now someone pushed it down!  They burned the old barn building where the cow had lived too.  So nothing  remains of the old house the rubble is over grown by trees now it's been 10 yrs since it burned...but I remember it so well each time I round that curve I think of the old house.

I wonder if my old house will eventually no longer exist?  Will it become abandoned?  I do wonder about those things...but today I will paint the deck and hope I can spend many more years sitting on that deck looking out over the field and remembering how it was when I had horses in there...and all the dogs we've had over the years who are all buried here, along with my horse Sundance.   I sit on the deck I can see the stone marking his burial place and I remember how it was back when he was alive.   I remember watching my son play in the yard and my mother next door planting flowers in her garden, and I miss those times.

Today (Oct 6) marks the 2 yr anniversary of the death of my husband of 36 yrs....I still miss him and I still see his handiwork here and there around this old homestead.  We moved here in 1977, that was 43 years ago...so much time has passed, so much has changed and yet it seems like yesterday!   The last time he was here he did  not remember me, this place, or anything of our history here together.  That made me very sad, but I was powerless to change that.

I plan to start the preparations for painting as soon as I eat breakfast.  John Wayne used to say "daylights a burning" so I better get at it.
