Slow Day

HITTLED A FEW MORE DOWN..

I never really got into gear today.  Laundry, house cleaning, chores, etc.  I did call it quits about 3 and began to sort through the many digital photos...I did 3 more blog post repairs, and it takes hours to find the right photo to go in the right place. Once I round up the  photos inserting them is no problem, I am having to upload them to a Google mail account I made up just for the purpose, it comes with 15 GB storage, and I've been using Facebook, but I don't trust either one, as I've said before Tech server companies in the end let us down and toss us under the bus, NAME one that hasn't screwed you over in some way. 

 I know you probably wonder why Im bothering, see my blog is about me preserving my memories...So it's a written history or record of my life.  And I illustrated the posts with my photos, so I hope to reclaim as many as I am able to ...I've already found some huge gaps that were backed up by the External Hard Drive I purchased, and Is defunked..I got one file off it and it wont' open it's corrupt so says the software when I try to open it..I scanned it and no malicious or malware found...so I don't know what the problem is. 

I have been able to use my scanner of hard copies I had of some photos to put back in posts..so that was cool, wish I had made more hard copies that is the best way to go..I should print out each blog post...I wonder if that is possible?

Anyways Im happy to be able to put some back, the text is still there so that helps. Im pretty tired and my eyes are  closing so this is a short one...I think a good nights sleep will do wonders for me...

First day of EDT went pretty fast for a slow day.

ORK AT HOME...

I did and didn't want to go out today so I stayed home and went out....into the yard! There is an endless list of "need to do's" so I tackled a couple of them.  My back gate the one I come and go thru had sagged and it has a spring on it so it will slam shut...since the dogs could go out that gate, although they know better, If it's left open a stray dog could come in, so it's important it be closed.  So this latch will lock the gate, when it slams shut...it was not working right so I got that put back right the screws were loose and the gate was dragging the ground, so I raised it up an inch and tightened up all the screws, and oiled the latch and now it slams shut again. 

Then I took off my windshield wipers, and painted the metal arm, cleaned up the windshield as best I could...and then replaced the wipers one is a 20 inch and one is a 19 inch, soooo One is wrong, I think the 19 is wrong.  I also put my little toiletry pack in the van so I wont be stuck without a toothbrush again, and I checked the engine oil.  It was good. 

Then I dug up the planting bed by the screen porch and planted my knock out rose bushes in the ground...they have been in pots for 6 yrs so Im going to try them in the ground...I dug it up good put them in and that's as far as I got I need to mulch the bed, and tidy it up a bit...hope they will grow now they generally bloom all year so I expect them to do as well at least.  

I did a repair to the broken bird feeder, it seems to be working, and other little things, brushed one side of Flossie she wouldn't roll over to let me do the other side and I didn't want to force her, she is having a really hard time with her legs...

I meant to trim Annie's nails but forgot...so tomorrow.  

And I found more photos on my CD's to put back into some photo-less posts, did one really big one...it was a lot..but now that one is done its a 2018 post...

2011 12, 13, 14, 15, gonna be very difficult...but Im gonna try to do as many as I can. 

And that was a busy day, and Im beat and my back hurts from the digging.  It was sunny and beautiful a little cold this morning, and tonight it will be 35F.   

Its always good to get some things done.  

I ate left overs on the front deck in the warm sun...felt so good.

TODAY WAS...

ARM AND SUNNY

I felt tired so I stayed home but  didn't rest did all sorts of chores...Clipped Flossie, worse job yet on that,,,poor Floss.  But its not like she is going to a pageant, In a couple weeks it will look great BUT I didn't get her bathed, my back was screaming after the clipping.  Then I cleaned out the fireplace for the year it's done,  I  want to put some cedar boughs and pine cones in it to make it smell a little better...I keep it covered but in humid weather it can get strong.

So I've throw open the windows and opened up the door that goes to the screen porch it's nice to feel the warmth and see the sun and feel the fresh air coming in.  I hope we have a long spring.  The peach tree is in bloom, and the daffodils are opening up the little tee a tee are the first to open.  I like the way they bunch.  

I spread the last of the ashes on the yard its a really good additive to the soil.  I went thru my wood scrap pile and I have a few pieces that I think will make a cage, I need to use it because the squirrels are chewing it up...

Then I vacuumed the whole house...it was necessary.  Now Im ready to rest.  I put a Frankenstein movie on, it's a little bit different than the traditional ones...the Monster just took off with the favorite child so now he has gone and done it....the "duke"  found the boy but he is dead.  Oh my. It just ended and it is "to be continued"  Hope right now otherwise, will never know what happened.

I think I will make a "Moroccan" Gyro.  I have some nice Greek flat bread, and I will season with Paprika, Cumin, and Turmeric, Garlic, Onion.  I have some whole corn kernels, and some Orange sweet pepper, mushroom, and white Kidney Beans so it should make a good gyro.  I will make a good sauce with an avocado and a little mayo with some lime juice should be really good and I will season that with dill. 

OK Part II just started so Im off to eat and then watch this.  Filmed in Germany, Interesting. 
The servant girl confessed to the killing of the boy...oh my. She is in the dungeon now.

ith the program...

I didn't really want to but had some chores to take care of laundry, wood, bird feeders, etc all needed my attention, I just wanted to play.  But adult playtime is not always allowed.  I had to take my recyclables to the center they open at 1 pm on Sunday so after that I tried to do a little birding but it was pretty much Bust certainly not worthy of a mention.

I did enjoy being out in the sunshine and got in some walking, so that was good...back home now with my dinner over, fire burning, and the afternoon has turned to evening...the clouds rolled in just about 5 pm and now it's completely socked in I guess it's going to rain. 

Today was my sis's birthday so I phoned her and we had a nice chat...she is getting a new roof, I think they start this week or next.  I need one also...I hope to be out of credit card debt by May of this year...and if I can get a grant I will try but if not I will have to make a loan. 

I am still going thru and looking for and organizing photos from 2008 to present...much is missing.  Did I mention I bought a new camera? It has shipped but not arriving till 27th.  Another Bridge camera....I have purchased DSLR before but honestly didn't like it...so went back to a bridge...and now I've had my last purchase for a year or more..and so I found one that is 20 mpx and 65x zoom.  I look forward to using it.  Think I will get a new SD card also start off with all new and HOPE I can get a crisp clear image, Im tried of thinking I got a nice shot only to find it's fuzzy and not crisp.  I bought a Kodak...I've always loved Kodak.  I've had 4 previously. I wear out camera's like other people go thru shoes...

Last night we watched the Ray Bradbury Theater...one episode was called the Crowd.  This guy had a car accident and within seconds he was surrounded by a crowd looking down at him, "is he alive?"  Then he realized the same people showed up at each car accident...he found old news footage, old newspaper photos and he found the same "crowd" each time..so he began to try and find out why...then he found out they all had died in a car accident...

Kind of weird...

That's was my day in a nutshell...Monday is just another day to me.

Im really beginning to wonder that...as things are not going as planned in my life..

It came out pretty good actually I just hope it will be cat approved.  I am not a cat person,,,although we had cats when we were kids and dogs and horses...but I sort of stopped with the cats after I grew up.  My son however is a cat person...he is the opposite of everything we taught him to be.  Can you explain that to me?  If I say it's black he makes sure in his life its white.  He is not like me, my husband, or anyone in our family...its almost like he is from another planet. 

Very cold today I had to straighten my shed up and put things back since my last 2 projects I had dragged so many things out..And didn't put things back where it belonged...It's a little better  now..

Then I got the wood in for tonight sawed up a few pieces that I had brought out of the woods, finished up my greeting cards and got them in the mailbox, had dinner, fed the dogs and now relaxing. 

Flossie, one of my dogs has a bad acl,...the vet told me, it would do little good at her age to do anything with it, rest her and keep her from over doing it, that was 3 yrs ago or so....she slipped on the slick floor and now she is limping really bad again...both my dogs are old they are sisters so 13 yrs old  this coming year,,,and Annie has a really bad arthritic front leg the wrist joint is twice the size of normal ones.  

I want tomorrow to be a better day for me.  Sometimes I think we should have an off switch so we can just switch off till better times roll around. 

Cozy Peace

HISTLE WHILE YOU WORK...

I didn't exactly do that but I worked nearly all day on my van.  I'd like to say it looks fabulous or wonderful but that would be a LIE..it looks better than it did.  I really need some paint that rolls on, because spraying it on is not getting even coverage...SO I may try some enamel roll it on and see how it looks! Can't really hurt and they do make the bedliner in quart cans...so I may have to go with that like it or not.  I will decide tomorrow what I want to try. 

Meanwhile my rib cage is sore...from all the stretching to try and reach the middle.  Ouch.  I put the gas heat on this afternoon.  It's that chilly in here.  I should have set a fire in the fireplace but I decided I wanted to rest and not jump up and down every few minutes feeding the fire but tomorrow I probably will do a wood fire. 

I have little black specks of paint all over me, I scrubbed and scrubbed but most is still on me.  I used 4 cans of spray paint and 4 cans of primer.  Not very exciting stuff just life.  I had left overs from the dinner I made for my son and I last evening he did come over and we watched the movie, it was a good thriller, didn't quite understand it so I noticed there is a you tube that explains the ending so I may watch that....it was like Cell Phones put  a Virus in the minds of humans, that changed them into Zombies, and then the Zombies all seemed to be controlled by cell towers they communicated and recruited the unaffected by making this Sound...pretty far out. 

We both like thrillers and sci-fi so yeah we agreed it was about a 3 outta 5 stars...I also have Cloverfield on my Que in Tubi...it looks like an action packed thriller that link will take you to the trailer in case you also like sci-fi thrillers. Tonight  Svengoolie has the Devil Doll...

If it's too corny I may go ahead and watch Cloverfield.

I have nothing planned for tomorrow so I will do whatever comes to mind stay in the NOW if I can.  There's some Youtubers I need to catch up with.  I Like Mike and SUV RV'ing have new releases Im going to watch as soon as I finish up this post for Sunday.  My Mom's sister Jean is in the hospital.  She also lives with her daughter, my first cousin.  I have to pop over to Facebook and see if she has left an update for us...My aunt Jean has a lot of nieces and nephews worrying about her same as My Mom did when she was ill...

Im tucked in a little early for me on a Saturday but it sure got chilly outside, feels really cozy in here now,  the girls are fed, and are sleeping on the rug in front of me, and  it looks like a peaceful quiet evening is on tap for us!

HY DID I DO THAT?

Go to Facebook...I really dislike Facebook...especially since I heard they are doing little to squash hate groups and posts bent toward hate...I do believe Twitter n Facebook have done irreparable damage to this country. I fell right in line with all the others on  a Nancy Pelosi post...all those trolls there telling her that her Stimulus bill is full of bloat for Poorly run Blue States, right out of Trumps mouth...so I challenged one person and said you sound exactly like Trump no one ever used those terms till he started using it you fell right into his pit...

So he says Pelosi is the one who is holding back the stimulus, so he cuts off all negotiations USING Twitter...or what ever it's called...and then says give the Americans' $1200 stand alone, and in a future bill we will give the Airlines 25 million!!   Nancy's entire bill was 2.2 trillion now he wants to give 25 million to Airline payrolls and another 35 million to small business... and $1200 to every American I think that may be more than 2.2 trillion, So he is doing the same thing just to a different group of people...

How does that help? Sure I would love to get $1200 but do we need to bail out an industry that we really don't need right now?  Put that money into AN unemployment package for ALL who lost their jobs! NOT just one sector...he is trying to say he bailed out the Air Industry like Joe Bailed out the Auto Industry...either way it doesn't put food on the table for many Americans who won't get any of that.  

I reminded them Trump didn't pay taxes for years...and paid $750 for the last 2 at that point they left...no come back to that I guess.  

Nancy's bill includes money for employers of Aliens who have a tax ID number, so HATE is at the bottom of this...they hate illegals so much they would starve them to death if need be...just to support Trump...I just don't get it but Im SO glad I don't!   :o) 

Last night I watched on You Tube the debate between Jamie Harrison and Lindsey Graham...BOY Jamie danced rings around Graham.  I knew Graham was a Trump Puppet but didnt realize just how bad he was this is the first time Ive heard him speak on his own behalf and man he Stunk!! It was like night and day the ideas they have. 

Tonight is the VP debate I will watch...I akin Pence to  one of those Roman Priests back in the day when they used to sacrifice virgins!! He is so totally creepy. I had never heard of the guy till Trump pulled him out from under some rock...I hope Kamala holds it together and doesn't come off as an angry black woman which sometimes she has a tendency to do...she has to appeal to the mainstream....I like her and I think she will do a fine job as VP.

So my deck is painted....its not a big deck it's 8 x 12..and one set of steps going down...the rails are the hard part, the dark red I did not have to repaint..it was some GOOD paint I had left over from when I painted Mom's front door...WISH I still had some of that paint. 

I hope this paint holds up better than the other one did...I had used Thompson's Deck Stain the last time.  I also painted my metal chair again that  paint did not hold up  only one year? This time I went chartreuse on the color of it.  We've had so much rain this year I'd like to know in inches just  how much we had but I can't seem to find that data! This paint  is Cabot Deck Correct not Restore...I got that wrong, I wanted to get Restore but it was too expensive this one was $35 a gallon at Lowes I used about 1/2 the gallon...Mom's front porch needs a painting it's only the floor so I think this may be enough to do that. 

Today I am  not feeling well again!! I started sneezing  on Sunday after I waded in the field of wild flowers...I figured it's hay fever from rag weed...dog fennel I don't normally get hay fever...so I have been taking Benadryl and yet it kept getting worse  this morning I had slight fever! 97.9      2 points up for ME and my throat is sore and I feel really fatigued.   IS it possible Covid is back for round 2?  I know some people have had it twice and most say they have continuing symptoms.  Damn. If I disappear you'll know why!!

We had fog this morning but its lifted now finally near noon.  I got worried it would rain but they say rain on the weekend...I want the deck to cure as long as possible before it rains!  I want to sit outside maybe later when it warms up a little bit more.  
SO the chores I've accomplished lately:

And countless other less than one hour projects.  I love having plenty to keep me busy...no moss grows on me.  I was an industrious child as well...when I was only a young girl  of about 13, I made curtains for my sister and my shared bedroom.  NO one helped me or suggested it, Someone gave my sister a bolt of cloth and she did nothing with it. SO I asked her if I could have it and she gave it to me...I made curtains and matching bed spreads for our twin beds! It was a scratchy linen of blue n green typical 70's pattern...pretty hideous but it worked and served the purpose...Im the kind that will try to improve a cardboard box if need be.  No surprise I started my own business at age 22 and kept it going 26 yrs! I did re-upholstery...everything from fine antiques to lazy boys recliners to boat, rv, and airplane seats...the only thing I refused was to cover deer stands!! NO you want sit out and kill deer you won't do it with my help.  

I hope after lunch I will feel better, but honestly that may not happen.  :o((

My sisters are off to Meeker today to photo some headstones on a project sis is working on.
I recall  going there many times when I was out there...it's a sweet little town...wish I was joining them today.  

Another big project I plan to do soon is more cosmetic work on my van...it just looked tired and run down so any little thing I could do would be an improvement.  So I painted the bumper covers that had been so faded, and the running boards that the paint had chipped off of and had cracked...and I scrubbed up the rims so they shine again.  It has a fiberglass top and when they painted it they put a clean coat on it big mistake, it's flaking off and looks horrible.  I tried to touch it up but honestly that made it worse.  SO I plan to sand it down as best I can and repaint the top I think a paint like that bed liner stuff that has some texture will do a good job and the imperfections won't show up as much?? 

I have to work on a ladder so I must be feeling 100% to do that.
