IN WIN...NO RANT POST
I finally realized there is no way Im gonna be able to clip my dog anytime soon outside its too humid, at 79% Its so miserable, the weather man has a chart on his nightly newscast and its a Graph that measures the humidity not in % but in Adjectives...today we are just under the borderline Oppressive, tomorrow the humidity will drop down some but only to the Muggy range...
So anyways no way I could try to do anything to the dogs but it became desperate. Since I've been out of commission with my hip injury...I have neglected my pets grooming, I can't stoop down with this pain and I cant pick them up with only one good leg they each weight about 50-55 lbs..and they are a wiggly 50 lbs..
But today I took 2 pain pills, (Aleve 440mg) and brought all my tools inside, and put down a blanket and sat on my ottoman and was able to stretch out my afflicted leg in a way that it didn't hurt. Annie only needed a nail trim I can't brush her inside the hair would go everywhere but she's an easy comb...next time Im out and about dealing with my plants I will comb her hair with a shed comb...it takes only seconds to run the comb thru her hair.
Floss on the other hand is a nightmare....and since she doesn't squat well anymore, she gets this stinky mat of hair at the rear end...I always keep it clipped short so I can easily wash her off with just a cloth and some no rinse shampoo...BUT the smell was not good. I tried using the cloth to wash it down, it would work for a while but then with the humidity, the area never dried so it became a must do situation.
SO happy I was able to clip that hair off and I just went ahead and shaved her rear from under the tail all the way down...So it will be a while before any hair gets back in the way. I shaved down her legs & inside, and the backs of them too.. cut the long stands off her tail...and then gave her a good warm wet cloth and no rinse shampoo foam cleaning, she smells delightful now. I also clipped her belly, her feet, her ears, and some of her chest hair, I hope that will be good enough till I can do better...I clipped both their nails...and gave them a Milkbone treat.
She can't stand up for me to clip her since she has bad rear legs so I have to do it with her laying down flat.
I finally did get to harvest some veggies from my garden pots...I got 2 zukes and 2 cukes! Delicious and the Eggplant is coming along...HOPE I can keep the critters away...so far so good on those *knock on wood* but the tomato is a loss, the peppers, a loss, the green beans now destroyed...it's deer and squirrel. I am considering not feeding birds for a couple of years maybe only suet in an effort to shut down the food supply to the squirrels and maybe they will leave!
