What does it mean

HEN DOVES CRY...
I don't know Im asking you,...lol
Its a catchy line in a Prince Song, why do we scream at each other, this is what it sounds like when doves cry.

I had a so so day yesterday it was cold...and it continues to be cold...last night we had a low of 30F...I never got around to blogging yesterday the day was long and then I collapsed, tired.  Son showed up for movies, so I just called it a day and sat down with him for a couple hours then off to bed when he left.

I had to grocery shop, something I do not like doing...if I had extra cash I'd just let them do it for me as so many now do...but I have no budget for being pampered.  I hit 2 ponds afterwards for drive by birding, not much out the cold wind had everyone laying low.

I am staying out of the political arena just keeping one eye open for red flags, this one caught my eye, McConnell may not finish his term...GOOD...don't let the door hit you and all that.  The problem is now adays the worry is we will get someone MUCH WORSE, and to think just  a few years ago we thought there was no worse...think again eh? Of course McConnell is doing a hand job on the whole process...meaning Normally the Governor of the state Picks a successor in this case, but McConnell is brokering some deal with the GOP so he can hand pick who takes his spot.  SO in a way he is going OVER the HEAD of the people of KY...and putting who HE wants in there...someone he can continue to control and influence...WHAT A WIPE  he is...this is what he is up to,.

Under Kentucky law, Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear would have the power to pick McConnell's successor if he steps down from office, so McConnell is backing new legislation that would enable the state GOP to choose a replacement.

Senate Bill 228, which The Intercept reported had been informally called the "Daniel Cameron Election Bill," would strip the governor from independently picking a replacement and empower the executive committee of the same political party of the previously elected senator to put forward three potential replacements and the governor would choose from that list.

NOT only that but the GOP trying to change voting rules in all the States, such as AZ, from the LA Times"

One point of agreement across the political spectrum is that the state-level focus on voting procedures has reached unprecedented heights, with more than 165 bills nationwide to restrict voting, according to the Brennan Center analysis. Many also agree that this showdown is the inevitable result of last year’s presidential election, which Trump has falsely described as rife with fraud.
“If 2020 was the year that the Republican Party decided to try to use the courts to shut down voting rights, 2021 will be the one they are going to try to use the legislatures to do the same thing,” said Marc Elias, a Washington-based attorney who has become Democrats’ go-to elections lawyer.

And Trump has told the GOP to Cease and Desist using his likeness to raise money because some of those people voted to Impeach him. According to Politico...

He wants to control the MONEY see, that's all it was ever about from him and all it ever will be about the money the power, not what can be accomplished but what can be TORN DOWN...torn apart, how much havoc can he reep and get paid to do it...what can he Destroy and make money and gain power...like all his other failed attempts at greatness Never HAPPENED...Even his precious Trump Tower in NYC is probably going to be taken from him...BUT if he gets control of all the GOP MONEY he could use it to shore up his personal holding which is to me what his aim was in the very beginning.

I think I hear some Doves Crying, and they should be crying FOWL..."foul"
DANGER ---->the future is NOT set...

Cold day

ITH THE OCEAN,,

Each day I get the rare bird alert in my email box, so yesterday I checked it late like an hour before bedtime...and there again was the Dovekie. If a rare bird sticks around 3 days there is always a chance it will be there...so this morning, I awoke at 6, made coffee, and breakfast, fed my dogs, whipped up a pack lunch and tried to think of what I may need and off I went back to Huntington Beach State Park, its on the Atlantic Ocean south of Myrtle Beach north of Charleston.  Good thing I tossed in a couple extra jackets BOY it was cold.  I kept all 4 layers plus had on my backpack all day and still felt cold. I should have worn my real winter coat but honestly I did not know it was going to be that cold.

Anyways I hooked up with a few other birders on the way to the Jetty, it's 1.89 mile walk one way in soft sand...and we had a head wind in our faces.  I did not get my bike ready as I didnt know I'd be going back this quick.  I saw  a few people on fatbikes, ebikes...I would enjoy a fat bike, but just getting some tubes in my flat tires would be a good idea.  My bike is a 7 speed mountain bike, I haven't ridden it in years..ONE thing is its a boys bike, I want a girls bike...it's hard to get on this bike, and off of it too.
So after a long drive I was on the beach at 10 am and we found the bird about 12 or a little after...it was a group effort having all those extra eyes on the water is a big help...
So the Dovekie is a life bird for me, and all in that small group too....and suchhhh a cute little guy.  It's barely a little over 6 inches in length a diving duck  black and white in color.  We got a terrific look as it circled the rocky jetty we saw it in flight then it landed on the rocks Right near us...And preened while we burned the sd cards UP in our camera's.

Really fun day, now put me with a group of birders and Im a happy lark, we are like minded in most every way...And I met one lady originally from the Netherlands, now a citizen of the US, and a really nice lady.  We were all strangers working together to make something happen an instant team and it was great to be part of a team if only for a day.

Since it was cold there was few people on the beach and even fewer on the Jetty only 3 fishermen, and not many boats...So we had 3 good birds to look for  and found all 3 and more of course...The Dovekie, the Long Tailed Duck that I reported last week, still there and Purple Sandpiper. So we hit the trifecta.

It was good...I froze, but it was worth it.  Nothing is colder than the beach in a stiff wind...trust me I lived on a Beach in Brooklyn for nearly 6 yrs and there is nothing more cutting than a northerly wind coming off the Atlantic.   I learned what to look for in a winter jacket, it has to be wind proof, it has to be well insulated, mine is down...(I purchased this before I went vegan) it has to have tight adjustable sleeves, so the wind cant whip up your arm mine has elastic cuffs that tuck up in the sleeve, then the actual insulated sleeve hangs over that.  A good coat has to have a hood with a draw tight string,  and if it has some fake fur around the edges even better mine does not have the fur....a zipper and a snap flap to cover over the zipper to keep wind from getting thru the zipper teeth, it has to completely cover  past your hips preferable knee length and and it has to have a collar to go all the way up and cover the neck AND MINE does all that.  I would say that coat would keep me warm in an avalanche!!  The outer shell is water resistant so it's not good in heavy rain if you carry an umbrella its okay but snow falls right off it. So I went north with my whippy "car length" duck  weight coat and nearly froze to death...so I went to a store and was schooled on what to look for in a real winter coat.  I paid $85 which to me was expensive, in 2002 I imagine much more these days.  If I had worn that coat I would have only had to have that on with a shirt and I would have been toasty warm...with the 4 layers I ended up with it was bulky and I felt like a mummy.
Live and learn, but toss in forgetfulness.

Live and Learn

RITE IT OFF..
Today I burned out about 6 gallons of expensive gas to go check out a new birding place in Cayce, SC...ANK, was not impressed.  I guess the only way to know is go see for yourself so I did.
MUD, trees so tall birds way UP there...ugh Did I say mud, oh yeah a couple of times maybe.
This is what I don't like about birding Spring Migrants...that's why I like winter birding way better, the trees have no leaves.  Anyways I saw very little, the river was pretty, the Congaree runs thru it...I should have gone to Congaree NP, it has a boardwalk to keep you up out of the mud.

Then I don't know why but when I turned the car on to leave I decided to see if Wilma, my GPS, could find a quicker way back...THAT *&^%$ took me right through Downtown Columbia.  It didn't take long for my PTSD of living in NYC to return.  People driving like nuts running red lights zooming lane to lane, homeless begging at intersections, coming up and banging on the windows of the cars...I rolled mine up and hit the locks cause  you never know what is going on in that situation I was happy when the light turned green before he got to me,  and just hoped the guy didn't get hit crossing 5 lanes against the light.  Then 2 fire trucks came barrel assing right thru the heart of it all...I was immediately back in NYC and all that I left behind.  I do not like Columbia.  It's full of drugs, drunks, and violent people.

So been there and probably won't go back....I may never get my waterproof boots clean, I will attempt that tomorrow.
So I told Wilma she is on restrictions for a while...lol.
So I came  home had something to eat and been trying to get more of the old photos organized, I found a few old ones on Google last night..the only problem is they are small so better small than none.  Now I cant find my MADERA  canyon photos.
Anyways its just annoying, Totally my fault because I did not download my photos before closing my flickr down...HOW can you store 10,000 photos???
So I just felt hopeless, I did download a lot of them....trust me I filled up about 12 64 GB thrumbdrives....then it was either pay for another year or let it go...and I made the choice...now it gives me something to do besides watch tv in the evenings...

SO the frekin congress has SHOT down the $15 an hr wage change...Bastards...I HOPE everyone who votes GOP is happy,,,and 6 Democrats didnt support it cause they just want the bill to pass...that damned conservative Democrat,    JOE Manchin he needs to switch parties and stop pretending.

Looks like Cuomo is getting the axe in the head, and if he did what they say, then he deserves it...But it seems he made sexual advances, not harassment.  The line is thin,
Anyways as a female I have been on the end of unwanted advances, and it goes with the territory and it seems it always WILL...The thing is with me, I say, "YOU better NOT be insinuating  what I think you are cause I will write you up in a heartbeat." WHY do women take that shit??? NO Way TELL THEM TO BACK OFF OR ELSE...omg it's not hard.

First office job I had I was 20 yrs old.  I had always worked outdoors with horses, but I was about to get married and we planned to settle down and quit the horse business...So I took a job as a file clerk...I was NO one's secretary or assistant...
Anyways the dept manager had to pass the coffee pot set up to get to his office and pass it to get to my desk before going into his office.  He had a secretary, but she was out of the office for a week...So he came by my desk and slammed  his cup on my desk...and then walked into his office..

SO I looked around at some of the other girls who had desks near me and they raised their eyebrows...I just let his cup sit...then he came out and asked if I would bring him a coffee...SO
I got up went filled the cup brought it to his office, and told him this..."you can fire me, suspend me, write me up whatever you want to do but don't you ever slam your cup on my desk I don't wait on my soon to be husband, and  I will not wait on you,"
I stood there while he looked shocked and I was already mentally cleaning out my desk, and he said...
"ok no problem at all thank you for letting me know how you feel."
And that was it.  The girls in the office had heard, and later in the break room they all came up to me and told me how much they respected what I did.

I actually advanced to scheduling and that manager was let go for having an affair with a co-worker...lol how about that  I left that job when I decided to start my Upholstery Business...

My feet are cold so the heat is on and I will probably nap on the couch till bedtime.  So sometimes you write off certain politicians, bosses, jobs, and nature preserves.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ still Im a solid 5 today.

Covid...

ILL IT GET WORSE?
Now 17 states are relaxing their mask mandates, some doing away with it all together....and opening up to full capacity is it going to make cases spike again?  It's like pulling up before the race is over.   I don't get the mentality of the people in this country selfish bunch of S*B's is how I see it.

I plan to continue to stay AWAY from people mask or no mask.  I have not missed out on anything...I've gone about my life, I've worn my mask when I had to and was supposed to and it has not been an imposition to me.   All those extroverts, who have to be up in somebody elses' space need to GET real.  We can do without a few of them...jepps Let them put their life on the line, no skin off my nose.

Anyways that's my thoughts on that.  I don't know when so many assess began to take up space but sure seems to have happened when I wasn't looking.   It started out cold but warmed fast so I couldn't quite get myself in gear but I did some birding nearby and enjoyed a long walk which I needed.  The park where I went was doing a scheduled burn, a lot of smoke then the wind changed direction and it was gone away from me.

One goal I had was to try and bird in every county in my state.  So I have 8 to do and they are all the counties on the western border with Georgia.  So Im working up a trip itinerary. I will probably have to take my dogs along.  But if so it will be okay.  Even if I bird from the van window, which is not hard for me to do...I won't get to do a lot of hikes, but short ones, yes, It's fun to think about going somewhere even if I don't ever get to go!!

I'd like to do it over the period of about 4 or 5 days,,,take my time find camping each night so the dogs can come out of the van and relax, I may bring my bigger tent and put it up for them to hang out in at night...put their big beds in it and then they can have their space too...anyways it's something to plan for...I'd like to do it the last week of this month while it's still cool. I like to stay busy tho Im not a sit in a camp chair by a fire type...I hike, I bird, I explore the natural wonders in a park if there are any and if it's not so exciting I get behind the wheel and move to the next place.  Most of the state parks here have a Top 10 or Top 5 list of things you don't want to miss.

So I have my maps out and my notebooks, which are never organized, I try but it never really works out to be organized...I don't know how some people manage....Im always jotting notes in the margin, and my writing goes from printing to cursive writing,  scribbled out places, and out of order notes, and it's just a total mess. I had a friend who made perfect notes and I was always in awe of her.

My sis sent me this old photo  of our Dad, I  think he was in  his late 30's in this photo...maybe.  Very evident where the saggy jowls came from!! Thanks Dad, His birthday is in this month,

Did you notice it's Friday Again??????????????

Future...

hat ever happened to the Daybells?

The latest I heard is they are going to be charged with conspiracy to commit murder, and that could be a death penalty case.  Of course the wheel of justice is so slow...meanwhile the Judges have said they will be tried together, they can not have  a change of venue, and they can not get bail reduced.  The prosecutor told Lori Daybell's sister that he believes Lori will talk to avoid the death penalty.

There is no way it's a coincidence that her 3rd Husband Joseph, father of Tylee, died, then her 4th husband Charles Vallow was shot by her brother no charges as he said it was self defense, then Chad Daybell's Wife died, and then Lori Daybells' brother Alex Cox who is the one who shot and killed Charles died, after the children went missing and the 2 children were found buried in Chad Daybells' back yard!!

Charles had a $1 million dollar life insurance policy.  His nephew, child of his sister's son, JJ who Charles and Lori adopted was to be taken care of with the insurance.  He took it out so the kids could be taken care of. JJ  had some development issues, he was Charles's biological relative,  and his sister's grandchild.  BUT unknown to Lori, Chad had changed the beneficiary of that policy to his sister, prior to his death....because he knew she would see that JJ was well taken care of.

I wanted to get the latest updates but it seems there is none in the way of evidence...as of yet.  Very strange case, when people begin to think they are God, they treat everyone else like mortals and slay them.  This is why when you give so much power to one person they will do anything to keep it.  I don't know how but somehow they are most probably behind all of these deaths.  There are drugs to make a death look like natural causes.  Her bother Alex Cox married a woman WHO was introduced to him by Lori, and Chad had called and said a blessing over Alex phone, the day he died, and it wad Chad who told Alex's new wife to go home and check on him, she phoned her adult son who did the check and found Alex dead...they had only been married 2 weeks. She said he went to Mexico to get some meds for  his cough but it did not improve.  The cops traced Alex and Chad's cell phones to Chad's backyard so it seems Alex helped to bury the kids, my theory is She killed the children and had Chad and Alex get rid of the remains...Very morbid.
Like I said Way too much for coincidence.

Today it cleared up about 1 pm.  So I built another cage for one more Apple tree...and did some gardening, put some Pumpkin seeds in a pot I want to get a jump on that because last yr my Pumpkin and watermelon was cooked on the vine....So If I can get them to mature a little sooner, I can  cover the plant with some shade to help it survive the summer heat.
All my greens have sprouted, Parsley, Cilantro, Curly, Endive, and Cesar lettuce...Romain and Swiss Chard doing well and another Broccoli head is forming. The Jalapeno has 2 peppers on it...I overwintered it.  HOPE it all continues to grow well...I want to get a large bag of potting soil, to replenish the pots I will later put tomato, and squash in the pots.   And I have some flower seeds to plant too.

It's good to think about the future.

What is becoming,,,

HILST WE WAIT...
To me the evil is building in this country.  I don't think people are taking the threat seriously...and that scares me.  Why? Because the dark side to this is they have evil intentions.  The GOP intends to create a White run govt, with an oppressive set of new laws to give the lawless the power to corrupt, and run amuck...while keeping down the "liberals" and non whites  they see as the threat to what they want, which I wish I knew what that was.

Mitch McConnell is a prime example of the hypocrisy of the right.  McConnell was only a couple weeks ago saying Trump has broke laws and he should be held accountable, and now he says he would support Trump if he is the GOP candidate in 2024.  So he will support a crook, just to be in power and be able to control the economy.,,,that is the only thing they care about....they could care less for individual rights, for a free press, freedom to vote no matter where you live and what your income is...they want to take that right away.

IF they continue to rig the voting laws, in a effort to tie the hands of Blacks when it comes to voting this is how they will take over this country and put an Authoritarian in as the leader....it will be the end of freedom as we know it.  I don't think they realize that they are giving away their own freedom they honestly believe they will get a free pass, as Trump showed he will have you throw his stones, then he will throw you under the bus.

The FBI director testified to the Senate today about the riot on 6th of Jan, one of the GOP senators said, "wasnt it mostly ANTIFA pretending to be Trump supporters who were rioting?" FBI answer, "no there was no evidence of that, they were Trump supporters," so even tho they KNOW the truth they put that little piece of LIE out there  for the ones who only want to put what they did and what they supported under the rug...Trump people did this, Trump supporters are evil.  Trumpism must be squashed for once and for all.

Today I got my headlight switch put in, and the headlight retainer rings on so I HOPE that is the end of my headlight problems...we shall see. The switch now clicks when you pull it out and before it did not so I assume that means it's now engaged.
It's always something when you're trying to hold an older vehicle together...there is a lot of work that needs to be done on the van, I hold onto it only so I can use it for my trips...I cant afford insurance on 2 vehicles...so the one I have has to serve many roles.

Light is what brings us out of darkness, it is not the dousing of the flame that brings us life, it is the suppression of shiny things that put us into a place where nothing reflects.

Could this be a...

asted day?

I guess as long as you're still above ground it's a good day eh?  But nothing worked the way I wanted it to this day...rain when I got up then it quit I went out to clean the bird feeders, since I found one with the eye infection...got that done just in time for another rain to hit.  Back inside...worked on scanning some of my hard copy photos into my computer to get my 2010 Zion post back up to snuff...but that's the last time I've had any hard copies made.  So Most of the photos I let go on Flickr exists only in my memory.

I may try to get my old PC up one more time...but the main thing I really need to do is take my external hard drive somewhere to see if it can be opened. I took the cover off and Im gonna hook it up and see it spins.,,

The bird is doing wonderful....one more day and it should be able to go...
I really love it when it goes so well....he has been eating like crazy, probably has not been getting all he needed due to the blindness. I also cleaned the birdbaths up too....I do regular cleaning of the feeders but since I know there was a sick bird using them I did it again.

I did put the headlight retainer ring on it did fit...So now I need to order one more.  Even tho they told me this one would not fit my van it did...I think the headlights may not be the stock ones that came on the van...because it did fit.

The guy who bought land behind me is setting out cedar trees, I have a line of them planted on my side of the fence, it looks like he is planting his very close to MY fence, but if it grows in I don't care cause I don't want to see HIM or whatever he builds ...that piece is so narrow...I don't think it's a good spot to have a home on period it's a LONG skinny piece.   I noticed he had planted cedars along his West boundary last month...so I hope they grow faster than the red cedar I planted they are finally growing but it's slooow...

The rain cooled the temps down again too...I haven't had any heat on in the house for a few days but tonight I may have to put some on.  This is the weird time of year when it will be spring one day and winter the next.  A pile of various clothes will collect at the foot of my bed, the "wore it an hour" pile, and you don't really know what to do with it.  Should I hang it back up, put it in the laundry, or leave it here for a day and see if I will need it again real soon.  This goes on till laundry day and then it goes in.

So gloomy now the sun never came out today period...and so my Brian is on drooopyyy mode...If anyone really wants to do me harm all they would need to do is put me in a room with no windows, I would die in no time. I put Dr Phil on and there is 2 families on going thru grief...And I can def emphasize with them.  It's not that you won't get over it, it's how long and what you go through each day that wears you down.

Well I got nothing much to add today,,,,I hope tomorrow is a better day for all of us.
