Its done...

ONDER what my next project will be?

Actually I have one tiny little thing to do and it's done but that is a just an after thought..

Its not exactly how I envisioned it to be but pretty darn close.  I went through a lot of hot glue..I already had much of what I needed on hand like that glue, staples, and tack nails..the wood for the project and the screws etc.  So I built if for about $40. 

I hope Bella will enjoy lounging and climbing on it..I will take some photos of the finished product tomorrow.  It got dark and began to rain so I had to quickly put things away...

No Fire tonight just using the gas heater it's quite comfy in here.  I didn't take the time to bring any wood in.  I went to town early to return the Chromebook.  I found one on Ebay that has Win S-10 which is safe mode same I have but I was able to bypass safe mode must remember how I did that...think I googled it and it took me thru the steps and then I was able to download Chrome, it is my favorite browser.  AND this one has HDMI port on it.  It will arrive next Monday. 

I had Veggie's with a baked potato for dinner and a donut for desert.  Tonight I watched a western movie, a modern day western, it was a good drama.  Robert DuVall.. and a lady Texas Ranger solving a 15 year old cold case of a missing boy.  The movie is titled Wild Horses, set in Texas, which is a beautiful state by the way.  

I have traveled pretty much ever area of Texas.  I've camped on the beach along the Gulf of Mexico a few times a really wonderful experience.  Went to many of the Wild Life Refuges down that area of the coast through Galveston, San Padre Island, Goose Island...  I spent time in the Lower Rio Grand Valley...lotsss of birding spots there but such a fast paced crowded area.   Then followed the Rio Grande from Brownsville, up to Rio Bravo, and Laredo...and eventually to Del Rio camping  along the way in various parks and natural areas.  Fell in Love with Big Bend,  the Chisos mountains, Also camped and birded in the Lost Maples Natural Area not far from San Antonio.  Visited the Davis Mountains, the Guadalupe Mountains, and the Franklin mountains and El Paso on my way to Las Cruses NM.  

My sister lived in Dallas, for a couple years so spent time visiting her there...drove across TX on I-40 a few times...I've zig zagged all over Texas and still there is so much to see there.  

Anyway that has nothing to do with the cat tower it has to do with the movie,...lol

I  have been wanting to return to Texas for a couple years now...hopefully 2021 will be a good year for me.

Spent the day...

ORKING ON THE TOWER.

It was a brisk but sunny day so I was at it for several hours till I grew tired and ready to come inside.  It's coming along...but Im not too happy with how the inside looks so I may redo that part...I will decide that next time I work on it...may not be tomorrow. 

I have some errands to do in town,  I have to visit the funeral home that handled mom's funeral and pick up a special Christmas Ornament...and I forgot to get the chicken  nuggets the dogs like to eat.  So I asked my son to drive me.  Since I don't know what is causing that loud sound in my van ..I don't want to do a lot of driving till it's repaired.  I assumed it was the wheel bearing, but the mechanic did that just last week...I want to take it to the Mechanic who did the work on my differential about 4 yrs ago...he is an expert.  

 I will call and see if he can check it or drive it and at least diagnose the trouble and give me an estimate and get it lined up to be done.  The whole front end needs to be replaced, and it needs new shocks. I would love to have heavier leaf springs put on..if only I had a lift lol.  Many things I used to be able to do I can no longer...aging sucks.

I don't know if I will get to see Svengoolie tonight son may be coming for a movie, he is not into the classics.  It's Revenge of Frankenstein's  1958 and in color.  We watched a really good one on Thursday,  Black Mountain Side, filmed in Canada, a good thriller.  A group of Archaeologists were unearthing some sort of never before seen Ancient dwelling with artifacts and then strange things begin to happen to the crew and one by one they kill each other...and just when you think one guy will make it back to civilization if he can walk 90 miles in deep snow....he is caught in a Bear Trap! Damn. 

I had veggie burger with fries for dinner tonight,,,,I like to brown the onion a whole slice and put only mustard, then put it on a Sourdough English Muffin that I pan heat so it gets really soft...quite delicious.  My son joined me then he went home to feed Bella the cat.  So he may or may not come back for a movie, we watched Amityville II while we ate dinner. A sequel to that is currently on Comet. The antenna Sci-Fi channel. 

I went to Amityville when I lived in NY many times.  We had to take a patients home who had a complete knee replacements at the Hospital for Special Surgeries In NYC.  LOTS of NYC firefighters live in Jersey and out on the Island.  AND a lot of them have to get new knees.  It's only forty miles from the city, out east as they say meaning onto Long Island.  Sometimes we took people to Montauk as far as you could go on Long Island.  That would take all day and was normally the only call we could cover that day. 

Sometimes we went  via 9A  over to the Jersey side then back into NY over the Tappan Zee to Tarrytown   and the land of the Headless horseman, Sleepy Hollow, NY many times to bring patients home from Cancer treatments or Heart Transplants, and they were so happy to be home as you can imagine.  

The fire is burning it's quite chilly so it feels good.  OH and the wool blanket had been found I asked son to check at his place and it was there.  I seem to recall sending it over there when My sister was there to help with cold nights an extra blanket in case there was not enough there.

HILE WE WAIT OUT THE NEXT 7 WEEKS?

So Barr said there was no fraud found and Trump said he has not looked at the evidence...but Barr's attorneys, FBI Agents, and other Special Inspectors found nothing...so the evidence Trump is referring to is the evidence He and Rudy G and his crooked family are creating?? I assume.  His 45 minute tirate was not aired on ANY channel I watch...the only way I knew he had done one was a Youtuber who has been making reports on his attempts to defraud the nation brought it up in one of his episodes.  I can only imagine.  

He thinks he can overturn the election with his Mouth...I wish someone would spare us any MORE Trump BS.   It's possible there will be violence in GA in JAN during the run off election.  If they are smart they will call out their National Guard to stand at each polling location to stop threats, and any abuse to voters.  

The Republican party I see  as a bad joke and the joke is being played on the stability of our Nation.  We have a real chance here to get McConnell demoted and  OUT of power..what a gift that would be.  He is on my 10 most wanted list.  Most wanted OUT of Washington. Somebody please take out the trash. 

Meanwhile the pandemic kills 2,600 in one day?  Those are voters dying out there one lady lost both her elderly parents within seconds of each other.  I wonder how many Trump voters have passed away? Does he care? NO he has not even mentioned the deaths.  All expendable to him...no longer able to donate to HIS cause.  HE has not pushed the Senate to approve a second stimulus while HE BEGS American's for MONEY!! And they are nuts enough to give it to him. He said he was going to continue to hold rallies, so far he has not.  He  actually has not paid different venues where he held his campaign rallies, he OWES as far back as 4 yrs ago.  He took people's money to fund  his campaign but he is not paying his campaign bills...same as he never pays any of this bills.

So Judge Sullivan will decide if the charges are to be dropped against Mike Flynn, and a legal group called We The People submitted a brief asking the question if the pardon given to Flynn by DJT was unconstitutional?  Meanwhile DJT said the news of pardons for his family is Fake News but I think we will see in the end? 

Today I continued on the scratch pole part of the cat tower.  Very slow process winding and gluing the sisal rope around the 2 x 4.  BUT I got it done...took me about 2 1/2 hrs to complete.  Now onto the next part of the project, the base and the upright supports..

HERE Would WE BE?

Today I'd be stuck walking home or calling  Uber.  I've never called an Uber so I probably would have to walk...we have no bus system and no taxi's that just drive around looking for riders...
So my car wouldn't start this morning So I jumped it with my Battery pak...it started up and off to town I went, it charged up fully but I decided to go to Walmart and get a new one while in town, Listen to your gut,,,please, I didn't.  
Me thinking out loud: Ok I come to Lowes first so I will stop and get what I came into town for and then I will go to Walmart and do the battery cause my hands are gonna get dirty taking out the old battery and putting the new one in there in the parking lot. 

Went into Lowes bought this thing And then when I came out my van would not start, the battery  I put in back in 2016 right before I left TN for my Canadian trip...and I've been all over the place since then...including 2 trips back to CO and beyond...so I tried to jump it no can do...it would start but immediately die again ....So I gave up.  They don't sell batteries at Lowes, but Walmart was nearby It took me 15 mins just to cross the busy highway a sidewalk is on one side only....yes you guessed it the opposite of the one I was on. There is no cross walk.

So hiked up there thru the big parking lot where a small stip mall is located and then cross another busy street and into the Walmart...got a cart, got the battery and intended to push it back in the shopping cart no way I could carry the battery.  So  I mentioned to the girl who checked me out, I hope I can get back across that street to Lowes...and she said "NO Problem I will take  you.  HOW nice.  I told her she was my angel.  

Between the two of us we got it in and it started right up...So happy and she took my old one back for the core...so I didn't even have to bother with that...I was so grateful.  OMG...lucky me eh?   I promised to pay it forward.  I hope that solves that problem....

MY son's phone had gone dead and he connected it to charge  but did not turn it back to on till he got it off the charge,,,,and sooo he just called me back like 20 mins ago...so I would have been stuck there for 3 hrs If I had waited..NOTE to self...Don't go on any long trips without buying a spare battery to take along...JIC.  I could easily have been in the middle of NO where some forest near a town I know nothing about. 

Now the reason for the big cardboard tube?? It's gonna be a Christmas Gift for Bella, my son's cat.  I promised her a tower for Christmas, then I priced them $80 the cheapest one  found, then I saw this photo..ON WAYFAIR

I want to build it myself....so the big tube is a cement form, it's sturdy rigid cardboard, its 12 inches round and 4 ft long...I have 2x4's left over from Mom's ramp build so I will use that for the uprights and I have a piece of plywood to use for the bottom platform...

I got some sisal rope to make a scratch post and I will go to a cheap variety store for some soft throw rugs to cover the perch's/beds with.   The Tube cost $14...the rope $10...I had to buy some Spray glue...$8 So if the rugs are $12 I will be happy.  It's $124.99 but original price is $179.99 So If can make it for less than $50 I will be happy. It's 42 inches tall..I may make mine taller. 

Im watching a silly zombie movie...called Fido.  I't's about this space dust that causes the dead to rise and become zombies They wear a electronic necklace that makes them docile enough to use as pets and domestics...lol..the people are like Stepford wives, its based in the 50's and now it looks like this one "wife" has her eye on the pet zombie...utoh. She is dancing with him...yuuuuwhoooo. LoL.  And her husband just zapped the zombie with the  necklace..ouch. Then he had the zombie sent to The Zombie Shelter,,,and the man just gave his 11 yr old son a pistol as a gift.  LoL...Now the kid wants to go find the Zombie and bring him home,,,,very strange movie. 

The fire is taking the chill out of the room we had more rain this morning, And I think we are to get one more storms being pushed in by a cold front that give us some lows in the 20'a BRRR.  I had the last of the Thanksgiving left overs...been good to not think about what I will have for dinner. 

So I found something else to be thankful for....Kind Strangers!!
